Sara Garlick Lundberg is an experienced search consultant and former nonprofit fundraising leader with a demonstrated history of successfully working with clients in the nonprofit sector.
With more than 20 years of experience, Sara dedicates herself to nonprofit search consulting, organizational assessment, and executive transitions. She works across the sector, including the social service, health, education, and youth development spaces, with a focus on gender and racial equity, and women’s rights.
Sara specializes in helping nonprofit organizations identify and recruit accomplished and forward-thinking leaders. With a background in both fundraising and executive leadership, she understands the skills required to lead effectively. Sara partners closely with clients to help them hire leaders that drive strategic growth.
Sara began her career as a journalist at The Wall Street Journal’s SmartMoney magazine. Following the events of September 11th, she served as a case manager for victims’ families, helping them to secure vital services. Sara later became a fundraising leader, working with high net-worth individuals to raise funds for children’s organizations including Absolute Return for Kids US (ARKUS), Children for Children (now GenerationOn), The Children’s Aid Society, and Civic Builders. Prior to joining DHR, she was a Senior Search Consultant at DRG.
Sara received a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science from Bryn Mawr College. In her spare time, she volunteers for women running for public office, and with American Corporate Partners, coaching veterans who are seeking professional roles in the civilian world. Sara is a runner, hiker and podcast obsessive, who dreams of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
