Sanna Ahonen

Executive Director/Area/Country Manager

Sanna Ahonen is the firm’s Country Manager for Finland and a member of the firm’s Technology Sector and Board & CEO Advisory Partners group, where she specializes in advising clients on technology-related strategy, development of their leadership teams and board advisory services. With more than 20 years of cross-industry transformation experience for both multinational and regional organizations in the technology, services and logistics domains, she helps recruit senior-level talent and effective board members to lead growth-driven businesses. Sanna is based in Helsinki.

 

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Sanna joined Russell Reynolds Associates from postal and logistics company Posti Group, where she was SVP of Strategy & Development. In this role, she was responsible for leading Posti’s transformation, strategy, M&A, ICT and digitization, innovation and growth initiatives. Previously, Sanna was VP of Corporate Development at Finnair, where she led the transformation team, ICT, process development and strategy process. As VP of Global Consulting at Basware, Sanna was responsible for delivery projects globally and new consulting services. Earlier, she held a number of senior strategy roles at Nokia, from leading global strategic change teams and business excellence organization for joint development projects with customers.

Sanna is an experienced board member, currently serving on the board of Yliopiston Apteekki drugstores and Säästöpankkiryhmä’s Savings Bank Association. She has previously served on the boards of Samlink and OpusCapita.

 

EDUCATION

Sanna holds a BA in international relations and diplomacy from Schiller International University in Paris and an MSc (including BBA) in business administration from the University of Tampere in Finland. She speaks fluent Finnish and English.
