Markus Hofer

Markus Hofer is a core member of the firm’s Healthcare and Corporate Officers practices. He also leads the firm’s Swiss operations, as well as the Operations and Supply Chain Officers practice for EMEA. He focuses on roles in the pharmaceutical, biotech, generics ad related service industries. He serves both national and international clients with assignments in general executive management as well as senior functional positions. Markus is based in Zurich.

 

 

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Markus brings 17 years of experience to the firm as a researcher, venture capital investor, manager and consultant in the life sciences industry. Prior to joining the firm, Markus spent 5 years with an international executive search firm as the Global Head of their Life Sciences practice, where he led a team across the US, UK and Europe which identified, assessed and staffed project roles for leading multinational Life Sciences companies. Before that, he spent several years at Novartis Pharma, first in their strategic planning group as their Global Strategy Director, followed by Marketing & Sales roles in Spain with increasing responsibilities. Earlier, Markus worked in venture capital and was the co-founder of a biotech venture capital firm in Zurich. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Zürich.

 

EDUCATION & AFFILIATIONS

Markus has an MSc in Biotechnology from the ETH and an MBA from INSEAD. He is fluent in German, English and Spanish and has a good working knowledge of French.
