He specializes in C-level assignments and Board advisory, with a predominant focus on the energy industry. Hans serves industrial clients across the globe, and recent significant searches include the CEO for an industrial services company, CEO for a global engineering and construction firm, President for a coal mining operation in Latin America, CEO for multiple private-equity-backed organizations, and various other executive roles for public and privately held companies. He is based in Houston.
Hans joined Russell Reynolds Associates from The Boston Consulting Group, where he partnered with clients to solve complex strategic and operational issues within the energy sector, most specifically Oil & Gas and Mining. Prior to this, he spent his earlier career with Othon Inc./Parsons Brinckerhoff as a Project Manager/Engineer in construction management. Hans is a registered Professional Engineer.
Hans received his BS in civil engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, his MSc in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. A native of Colombia, Hans is fluent in English and Spanish and speaks conversational German.
