Jeff Warren leads the firm’s Global Alternatives Practice and is the Area Manager for the Los Angeles office. He conducts leadership and succession engagements across the C-suite, including the investment and financial officer functions, working with public companies, private equity firms and their portfolio companies. He is a member of the firm’s CEO/Board Services Practice and has also led engagements for a variety of financial services firms including private equity, investment management, banking, consumer finance and real estate clients. Jeff advises clients within private equity and alternatives, working across the investment firm and portfolio company levels.
Jeff’s recent search assignments include the Chief Operating Officer of a top investment management firm, the Chief Investment Officer for a large pension plan, distribution searches for investment management and alternatives firms, numerous senior level executive searches for banks, and CEO, COO, CFO and senior leadership searches across industries for the portfolio companies of private equity firms. His recent board experience includes working with one of the world’s largest asset managers to replace retiring board members; a private company to add directors with financial services and risk management experience; and, several private equity firms and their portfolio companies to add operating partners and board members.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1999, Jeff was Director of Business Development for KSL Fairways, a wholly owned subsidiary of KSL Recreation Corporation and a private equity affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. In this role, he oversaw business development, acquisition and strategic planning activities. Previously, Jeff was in the Financial Institutions’ investment banking group at Merrill Lynch and, earlier, with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in Leveraged Finance and Merchant Banking.
Jeff has served on the Board of Directors of the Neighborhood Youth Association of Los Angeles and the Board of Advisors for Echelon Advisors. He is a member of the Santa Monica Chapter of YPO.
Jeff received his B.A. in economics and political science from Vanderbilt University, and his M.B.A. in finance and entrepreneurial studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management.
