Wendy Kallina

Dr. Wendy Kallina has over two decades of faculty and administrative experience at both public and private institutions that included both faculty and administrative roles. After graduating from Auburn University with a Ph.D. in human development and family studies, she became a full-time professor at a state college where she coordinated an undergraduate major in public service. Her work with progression and graduation data led to an interest in institutional research. In 2009, she enrolled in Oklahoma State University’s online MSIS program to deepen her understanding of data management and analysis. In 2010, she began work at Georgia Military College as the Director of Academic Assessment and was promoted to Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness. She accepted an Executive Director of Institutional Research position at Southern Polytechnic State University, serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet. During SPSU’s consolidation with Kennesaw State University, she was a member of the Consolidation Implementation Committee. While at KSU, she served as the Director of Academic Analytics supporting the institution’s student success initiatives. Returning to the classroom in 2019 at Agnes Scott College, she was the Founding Faculty Director for the Data Visualization graduate certificate. She developed and implemented the curriculum for the M.S. in data analysis and communication that included a SAS academic specialization in data analytics.
Dr. Kallina has presented multiple workshops on program assessment and evaluation, data visualization, and basic and advanced statistics across the country. She has served as President of the Georgia Association for Institutional Research, Planning, and Quality and as a Board Member for both Southern Association for Institutional Research and Association for Institutional Research. She is the author of the Communication and Dissemination of Data, in Cultivating a Data Culture in Higher Education.
Dr. Kallina’s experience encompasses institutions with enrollments from 1,000 to 35,000 students including state colleges, universities, and private institutions with specific missions.
