Ms. Carly Place joined Academic Search as an Associate Consultant in 2024. Prior to Academic Search, Ms. Place spent most of the past decade working in higher education. She dedicated almost eight years to academic advising within Academic Services for Student Athletes at the University of Central Florida. In this role, she fostered strong relationships with student-athletes and guided them to discover their academic passions. Ms. Place also served as the head of the Developing Athletic Advisors Program, where she led recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives. In her time at UCF, she also managed award nominations, orientations, and events.
Ms. Place is passionate about empowering others and leveraging her diverse background in higher education to help others grow professionally. A member of The National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) for eight years, Ms. Place attended conferences, networked with other professionals, and exchanged valuable resources.
Prior to her tenure at UCF, she spent two years in the Office of Student Development at East Carolina University as the Assistant Tutor Coordinator and an Assistant Academic Advisor. In this role, she held multiple administrative responsibilities, helped train learning assistants and tutors, and worked closely with students from assigned teams.
Ms. Place earned her M.B.A. from East Carolina University and her B.S. in sport management and minor in communications from Mount St. Mary’s University.
