EMA Partners Opens New Office In London

January 3, 2017 – EMA Partners International, a global partnership of executive search professionals, has opened a new office in London with the additions of managing partners Alison Ryan and Phil Sharp, who combined bring more than 35 years of experience in executive search.

Ms. Ryan has assisted organizations across market sectors identify executive talent for a range of functions, including finance, sales, operations, and marketing. She also advises startups on recruitment strategies, and assists venture capitalists with board selection. Mr. Sharp began his career in executive search and continues to work alongside many international organizations and global brands.

London generates about 20 percent of the U.K.’s GDP, while the economy of the London metropolitan area — the largest in Europe — generates about 30 percent of the U.K.’s GDP. London’s largest industry is finance, and its financial exports make it a large contributor to the U.K.’s balance of payments. Along with professional services headquarters, the City of London is home to the Bank of England, London Stock Exchange, and Lloyd’s of London insurance market. Over half of the U.K.’s top 100 listed companies (the FTSE 100) and over 100 of Europe’s 500 largest companies have their headquarters in central London. Over 70 percent of the FTSE 100 are within London’s metropolitan area, and 75 percent of Fortune 500 companies have offices in London.

Continued Expansion

Outside the U.K., EMA Partners continues to expand its footprint globally.

In October, it added two new offices in South America with new locations in Santiago, Chile, and Lima, Peru, with the additions of TestaNova and Pera Consultores. Antonia Errázuriz is one of the founding partners of TestaNova, a firm that has served Santiago and the Chilean market for seven years, specializing in the areas of industrial, consumer, retail and financial services. These two offices join an expanding partnership of search firms in South and Central America that includes offices in Brazil and Panama City, and six offices in North America.

In June, EMA Partners grew with new offices in São Paulo and Campinas, Brazil, with the addition of Weplace Search & Leadership, which serves a wide range of services for a diverse portfolio of clients.

EMA Partners also recently expanded into Panama with the addition of Carhei Consultores. Managing partner, Camilo Cardoze, said: “The association with an established international search firm will give us more exposure locally and internationally. We believe this association will give us the opportunity to offer our services to international companies that are considering Panama as a strategic point for expanding their businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
