Carmichael Fisher Leading CEO Search for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations

January 13, 2017 – Executive search firm Carmichael Fisher has been selected by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to lead its search for a new chief executive officer. Principle consultant Tarquin Bennett-Coles is leading the assignment along with managing director Justin Hobday.
As a start-up global initiative leader, the incoming CEO of CEPI will need to demonstrate the ability to achieve results in situations of uncertainty, while working with the organization’s board and maintaining engagement with a diverse group of stakeholders. Experience in establishing a clear vision and communicating this across those stakeholders to ensure buy-in and the necessary engagement to deliver on the vision is ideal for this position.
The CEO also will need to demonstrate an ability to build a wide network of working relationships across global health organizations, global life sciences and the vaccine development ecosystem, as well as engage new partners and achieve buy-in across global stakeholders.
“The CEPI role has importance for global public health so finding the right individual for the coalition is vital. This person will need to create a compelling vision for CEPI while leading, managing and partnering with diverse stakeholder groups,” said Mr. Bennett-Coles. “They will need to engage with, and galvanise, the wider life science community, manage complex financial and fundraising affairs and support the board to create a sustainable operation.”
The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations has a clear mandate: to stop future epidemics by faster developing new vaccines for a safer world. This means creating vaccines for diseases of epidemic potential ahead of an outbreak to reduce loss of life and lessen the social and economic impact of infectious disease outbreaks.
