November 10, 2017 – Executive search firm McDermott & Bull has expanded into New York City. Stu Leibach, principal consultant and industry specialist within the firm’s retail practice, will be based out of the new location. He will continue to partner with clients regionally and nationally.

“Now more than ever, identifying the right executive talent is critical to success in the modern retail landscape,” said Mr. Leibach. “My presence in New York City will allow me to readily partner with and satisfy the human capital needs of both established and emerging retail companies. My recent work with Ulta Beauty and Athena Cosmetics has reinforced the importance of effective partnership in finding high-impact talent.”

Mr. Leibach’s practice expertise includes specialty retail, omni-channel, e-commerce, digital, luxury retail, experiential retail, department store retail and big-box retail. Prior to joining McDermott & Bull, he was head of retail at A Pea in a Pod, Motherhood, and Destination Maternity.

Technology continues to bring innovation and creativity to the industry, providing customers more access to merchandise than ever before, said McDermott & Bull. As competitive demand for this retail transformation continues to grow, so too does the demand for smart, entrepreneurial leadership at all levels, according to the firm.

New York Market

Silicon Alley, as it is known, is the East Coast’s answer to northern California’s Silicon Valley. It encompasses the New York City metropolitan region’s high technology industries involved in the Internet, new media, telecommunications, digital media, software development, biotechnology, game design, financial technology and other fields within information technology. Typically, the enterprises are supported by the entrepreneurship ecosystem and venture capital investments.

“Our firm is committed to strengthening our presence in markets throughout the nation and globally to optimally serve our clients,” said Rod McDermott, CEO and co-founder of McDermott & Bull. “We’re confident that our presence in New York City will greatly benefit our firm and our clients’ critical need for senior leadership in the industries in which they do business.”
