Amrop Expands In Asia and LATAM
August 8, 2016 – Amrop, a partnership of recruiting firms operating from 77 offices in 55 countries throughout Asia, EMEA, and the Americas, has expanded its staff with the additions of four new partners to its global team of search consultants.
Deepak Dalal becomes a member of Amrop India’s industrial practice, leading its automotive & engineering vertical. He joined Amrop from Accenture Consulting where he was senior principal & head – automotive and industrial equipment.
Mr. Dalal brings 19 years of global management consulting and industry experience (14 years in management consulting – Accenture, Deloitte, Hewlett Packard Consulting and five years in industry – Suzuki Motor Corporation and Steel Authority of India). He has completed 35-plus consulting engagements across geographies and dealt with 100-plus clients in his consulting career. He also spent four years at General Motors in Detroit as a strategy planning lead while with Hewlett Packard Consulting.
Winnie Chiu joins Amrop as an associate partner in Hong Kong where she will work with clients with a focus on delivering leadership services. She comes to the firm from Right Management, with experience in the areas of executive coaching, human resources management, talent management and organizational development.
Ms. Chiu has been the HR and learning & development head in a number of organizations with Asia Pacific exposure, including Sealand Services (now Maersk Line); ImagineX; IDT International and The Sheraton Hotel. She has worked with CEOs and GMs on a number of M&A processes, including the acquisition of Sealand Services by Maersk Line, where she was involved in HR due diligence, outplacement services, change management and talent retention.
José Manuel has been named as a consultant in Mexico City. He joins Amrop from his previous role as managing director of Olympus’ Mexican subsidiary. He has 25-plus years of experience in key management positions of companies including Carl Zeiss, Olympus and BASF, with extensive experience in the areas of general management, finance, strategy, manufacturing and sales. At BASF, he held roles covering strategy, internal audit and organizational development.
At Carl Zeiss, he served as CFO of the Mexican subsidiary and was promoted to managing director. He was later asked to take over overall responsibility for its Northern Latin America region. He also spent several years working in Europe. Building on his sector expertise, Mr. Manuel will work with Amrop’s clients within the broader global life sciences, industrial solutions and chemicals sectors.
Jorge Milberg has been appointed as a partner in Lima. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the life sciences sector as CFO, general manager and regional manager in leading organizations including Eli Lilly, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Steifel / GSK, in the U.S., Peru, Brazil and the Andean & Latin American regions.
He has more than 10 years of experience in executive search at Heidrick & Struggles, where he led, as senior partner, the firm’s offices of Peru and Argentina. He was previously a partner at Heidrick’s Philadelphia and Miami offices, where he acted as healthcare practice leader for Latin America. Mr. Milberg has been a board member at ALAFARPE, where he presided over the Commission for Intellectual Property and the Social Assistance Program (PASAL). He is a board member at Numay SAC, a fuels distribution and commercialization company and a board member at MAGIA, Asociación por los Niños con Cancer.
Amrop recently added five new search consultants. They include: Sandra de Bruijn as partner in Amrop’s Amsterdam office and a member of the firm’s professional services practice group; Anabel Galarza as a partner in Ecuador; Claudia Paladino as a partner in Italy; Roland Theuws as a partner in Amsterdam; and Mircea Tiplea as a partner in Romania.
Amrop also recently welcomed Anhalt Executive Search in Germany as its newest member firm. With offices in Berlin, Duesseldorf, Hamburg and Munich, this latest Amrop member is a newly-created firm led by Sabine von Anhalt, Annika Farin and Ulrich Beckendorff, all established practitioners in executive search, leadership and board consulting.
