AIMS Elects Vice President for Americas Region

September 5, 2019 – Executive search consortium AIMS International has elected Juan Carlos Solano, founder and managing partner of AIMS Central America, Caribbean and Panama, as vice president of its Americas region.

Mr. Solano is a professional in human resources, marketing and sales, with extensive experience in business management since 2008. He has skills in strategic planning, channel management and communications.

“Being part of AIMS has allowed me to have a broader view of human development over time,” said Mr. Solano. “This position, along with the people working as consultants and partners in AIMS, has enabled me to do what I love most, which is developing and encouraging professionals towards their growth. I am excited to join forces with my colleagues in the region and around the world on this new stage.”

Mr. Solano takes over from Cecilia Diaz, who will step into the role of executive vice president Americas region. Ms. Diaz is an AIMS veteran, and has broken ground in many areas. She was the first Mexican to serve on the board as VP Americas region as well as only the third female board member in AIMS’ 36-year history. She is also managing partner for AIMS International Mexico.

“It has been an honor to work with such talented executives from all around the globe,” said Ms. Diaz. “Each has brought an enriching perspective and experience and I am confident that together our Americas partners and Juan Carlos as VP, will help strengthen and develop our region to its highest potential.”

“I am very excited to have Juan Carlos join our executive board,” said Bernardo Entschev, president of AIMS International. “He has been successfully growing the offices in Costa Rica, the Caribbean and recently in Panama and we are looking forward to working with him on the executive board.”

“Cecilia has become an important part of the AIMS family and is the ideal candidate to take over this important role as head of Americas after her four-year tenure as VP Latin America,” he said.

With over 80 offices worldwide, AIMS International provides clients with customized, global executive search and talent management services in 50 countries. It has active global practice groups working in the automotive, financial and professional services, FMCG and luxury goods, industrial, IT and telecoms, and life sciences industries, as well as in talent management and board advisory services.

Glowing Global Organization

AIMS has experienced a wave of growth over the past year. During the summer, AIMS appointed Bernardo Entschev as its new president. He took over from Pierangelo Favero who served in the role since 2015. Mr. Entschev is managing partner U.S. and previously served as international vice president and executive vice president for the Latin Americas and Americas regions. He is qualified as a medical surgeon in Brazil and worked as a craniofacial surgeon for 10 years before joining his father’s executive search company in Brazil in 2007. Since then he has become an integral part of AIMS International, growing the business, first in South America and more recently in North America.

“I am honored by the great confidence shown by our general assembly in Marrakech, electing me as president of AIMS International,” said Mr. Entschev. “The executive search market is changing due to the development of tech platforms, connecting candidates and companies. To stay relevant in today’s market, an executive search organization needs to offer more than finding the right candidate.”
