AIMS Expands Into Belgium
December 14, 2018 – AIMS International has strengthened its presence in Europe with the creation of AIMS International Belgium. The firm has appointed Olivier Legrand as managing partner to lead the new location.
The office in Belgium offers the full range of executive search, leadership development and HR process consulting services provided by AIMS International.
After more than 20 years in senior and general management positions in the consumer industry and especially in the automotive industry, notably as vice president, aftermarket EMEA of Wolf Oil Corp., Mr. Legrand developed his own consulting activity, supporting international companies that were reshaping their business strategies or organizations.
In his new role, Mr. Legrand’s key mission will be to promote and develop the AIMS International brand locally as well as to strategically support the entire organization in serving clients with headquarters or subsidiaries in the country.
“The creation of an entity in Belgium, a country where many companies have their global or European headquarters, is a key strategic step in the further development of our coverage of the region,” said Grégoire Depeursinge, EVP of EMEA at AIMS. “With a presence in 36 EMEA markets and virtually all European countries, AIMS International is now in a position to be the partner of choice for international companies as well as clients needing to source talent with a region-wide scope.”
“Thanks to Olivier’s experience, the support of our European offices and their consultants, and the added value of international best practices and truly global reach, AIMS International Belgium will be able to deliver the highest quality service in the market,” he said.
Mr. Legrand said he welcomed the challenges ahead. “Becoming part of AIMS International is an opportunity to join a team of recognized professionals and one of very few truly global executive search & leadership development services organizations,” he said. “I am delighted to be a member of this fantastic group and look forward to helping develop it further.”
Recruiter Rankings: Global 25
This year Hunt Scanlon reviewed an exhaustive list of global recruiting providers and culled it down to the top 25 global talent providers that now dominate the recruiting business worldwide.
Belgium’s strongly globalized economy and its transport infrastructure are integrated with the rest of Europe. The economy is characterized by a highly productive work force, high GNP and high exports per capita. Belgium’s main imports are raw materials, machinery and equipment, chemicals, raw diamonds, pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, transportation equipment and oil products. Its main exports are machinery and equipment, chemicals, finished diamonds, metals and metal products, and foodstuffs.
Glowing Global Organization

It has active global practice groups working in the automotive, financial & professional services, FMCG & luxury goods, industrial, IT & telecoms and life sciences industries, as well as in talent management and board advisory services.
AIMS has experienced a wave of growth over the past year. Recently, it grew in Eastern Europe with the addition of a leading consultancy previously known as FIT Specialist Recruitment. The firm, which now operates as AIMS Poland, was established in 2009 and is led by founders Malgorzata Tylec-Gusakov and Natalia Woszczerowcz. The Polish team offers services such as executive search, leadership assessment, talent management, legal executive consulting and legal management.
This spring, the organization added Takehiko Ono as managing partner of AIMS Thailand. Mr. Ono has over 20 years of experience in executive search and the HR industry. Before joining AIMS, he served several industry sectors, including automotive, IT and telecommunications. As managing director of a recruiting company, he staffed foreign engineers for manufacturing companies in Japan from Thailand, Vietnam and China as well as searched for executives in those countries.
Earlier this year, AIMS added Moscow-headquartered executive recruiters Midland Hunt as a member firm. Midland’s founder Marina Stepanova assumed the title of managing director AIMS Russia. Ms. Stepanova and her team focus exclusively on search for C-level executives, board positions and middle management roles. They have over 12 years of experience working with Russian and multinational organizations.
