Managing Partner

Can Önen is Managing Partner for NGS Global and is based in Istanbul, Turkey. Mr. Önen has extensive experience conducting C-level and senior leadership search assignments for global and domestic companies from a broad range of industries, including energy, technology, telecom, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail, automotive and private equity.

Prior to joining NGS Global, Mr. Önen worked for global executive search firm Alexander Hughes in Istanbul as Managing Partner. Before that, he was a Senior Advisor for investor relations at global communications firm Grayling in Turkey. Mr. Önen also worked for The Anne McBride Co. and The Global Consulting Group in New York, both were acquired by Grayling, during which time he provided investor relations consulting services to clients across the globe.

He started his career as a stock broker and portfolio manager on Wall Street and spent two years in the finance department of Sabancı Holding upon his relocation to Turkey. As such, he has built a considerable wealth of expertise helping organizations develop and execute strategies in finance and management of investor communications.

His background, proven success and depth of knowledge in executive search, financial services, and investor relations allows NGS Global to serve diverse organizations that operate in the region with a wide range of expertise. While focusing primarily on the Turkish market, Mr. Önen and his team also service clients in Iran.

Mr. Önen holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and an Executive MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
