InterSearch Expands in Germany

Intersearch Elke Ebeling Germany

April 11, 2018 – InterSearch Executive Consultants, a global network of executive search firms, has expanded its search staff with the addition of Elke Ebeling as a partner in its Königstein, Germany office.

“Elke Ebeling is a renowned personnel consultant whose extensive experience is only one of the reasons why she fits in so well with us,” said Thomas Bockholdt, managing partner of InterSearch. “We see ourselves more as long-term advisors to our clients, with a focus on sustainable relationships, rather than as short-term recruitment service providers. Elke Ebeling also advocates this approach, and we are delighted to have her on board as a further strong consultancy colleague.”

Ms. Ebeling specializes in top leadership positions for companies in machinery, plant engineering, pharmaceuticals and retail. She had been a partner at Kienbaum Executive Consultants for 16 years before heading human resources and sales for Ibis Acam. Most recently, she was a managing director at Delta Management Consultants. Ms. Ebeling has been committed to supporting the advancement of women in the professional world and will increase her focus on this issue in her new role at InterSearch.

The German Market

Germany is the largest national economy in Europe, and the fourth largest by nominal GDP in the world. The country’s service sector makes up 70 percent of its GDP and nearly 40 percent of Fortune Global 500 companies are headquartered here. But Germany is facing severe economic prospects, as the country comes to grips with a growing immigration and migrant crisis, which is expected to challenge every corner of its society, from education and healthcare infrastructure to jobs.

Nevertheless, Germany continues to attract recruiters. And other London-based search firms like Spencer Ogden are turning to Germany, as well as to France and the U.S. as potential markets to sit out the uncertainty and after-effects of Brexit in the U.K. until a clearer way forward surfaces.

Well-known companies in the country include Mercedes-Benz, BMW, SAP, Siemens, Volkswagen, Adidas, Audi, Allianz, Porsche, Bayer, BASF, Bosch and Nivea. As such, it is an important base of operations for all of the major global search firms, including for Egon Zehnder, Spencer Stuart, Boyden, Russell Reynolds Associates, Heidrick & Struggles, DHR International and Korn Ferry.

“Particularly in the DACH area, we are seeing an increasingly strong candidate market, as a consequence of which, the search for suitable candidates is taking place abroad more and more frequently,” said Ms. Ebeling. “InterSearch`s membership of the international InterSearch network sees us optimally placed to meet this challenge. I am very happy to become a part of this strong team with immediate effect.”

New Board Members

InterSearch recently expanded its board with the additions of Frank Schelstraete, Micheál Coughlan, Andrea Magnabosco and Samantha Robinson as directors.

Peter Waite will continue to serve as chairman of the board until May. “I’m delighted that some of the next generation with excellent executive search experience have joined the new board of InterSearch,” he said. “They will definitely boost the business development of the whole organization and further support our expansion and digitalization with innovative ideas. Thanks to the experience of Samantha Robinson in the MEA region we will expand our presence in the booming Middle East and African countries. I’m confident our new team will consolidate the positive results and inspire further growth globally.”
