Heidrick & Struggles Adds Healthcare and Life Sciences Specialist

June 14, 2016 – Heidrick & Struggles has strengthens its healthcare and life sciences practices with the addition of healthcare leader Alan Milinazzo as a partner. He will be based out of the firm’s Boston office.

“This is a rare hire — Alan brings more than two decades of executive management experience in the life sciences sector. His complex experience in the boardroom and as CEO will immediately impact our global clients and the business and leadership challenges they face,” said John Mitchell, Heidrick’s global managing partner for healthcare and life sciences.

Prior to joining Heidrick, Mr. Milinazzo most recently served as president and chief executive officer of InspireMD, a global leader in embolic prevention systems (EPS), neurovascular devices and thrombus management technologies. He also serves on the boards of Flexion Therapeutics, a specialty orthopedic pharmaceutical company; LDR Spine, the leading cervical disc producer; and CAS Medical Systems, a medical technology company that develops and sells devices for non-invasive patient monitoring and the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, the world’s leading tissue bank.

Previously, Mr. Milinazzo served as president and CEO of Orthofix International N.V., a global orthopedic and spine company, as well as the general manager of Medtronic’s coronary and peripheral vascular businesses where he was instrumental in the development and commercialization of a number of key products, including the company’s first drug coated stent platform, Endeavor. He also spent 12 years as an executive with Boston Scientific Corporation in numerous roles, including VP of marketing for SCIMED Europe. Mr. Milinazzo has over 25 years of experience in management and marketing, including positions with Aspect Medical Systems and American Hospital Supply.
