Quick Leonard Kieffer Adds Healthcare Recruiting Specialist

March 7, 2016 – Executive search firm Quick Leonard Kieffer has named Scott Sammon as partner in Chicago. Mr. Sammon works with clients to manage C-level search assignments in the healthcare provider and not-for-profit sectors and has served as a consultant to both association and hospital boards and has acted as a facilitator to companies for board retreats.

For the past five years, Mr. Sammon was managing director and head of the healthcare practice at Reilly Partners, a search firm specializing in private equity, insurance, sports management, and the consumer products sectors. He began his search career with Quick Leonard Kieffer in 2000 and served as managing partner with the firm.

He has worked with a variety of clients over the past 15 years, including critical access hospitals, some of the largest public health systems in the country, academic medical centers, and community hospitals – healthcare providers of nearly every size and governance structure.

“I’m thrilled to be back at QLK and look forward to sharing some of the best practices I learned from other industries at Reilly Partners with my colleagues here,” said Mr. Sammon. “I was part of the founding and building of QLK and I look forward to helping the firm expand and continue to set the bar for search firms in the healthcare arena.”

In recent months, QLK has recruited CEOs for Alabama Hospital Association, Villa St. Francis in Milwaukee, Vidant Health in Greenville, Cook County Health & Hospitals System in Chicago, and Providence Health Plan in Rhode Island.

Two weeks ago, the firm added Patricia Hall as a managing partner. She is responsible for leading the expansion of the firm’s life sciences­­­ practice. Ms. Hall has over 20 years of experience focused on general management, commercial and operations leadership for the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and consumer health and wellness sectors. She has placed senior leaders into public organizations and has helped build executive talent pipelines for investor-backed startups and portfolio companies.

Healthcare is among the most rapidly growing employment fields, according to analysts at Hunt Scanlon Media which tracks trends in the executive search and leadership solutions space.

According to the most recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report, healthcare employment increased by 38,000 in February, following a gain in January (+37,000). Job gains in occurred in ambulatory healthcare services (+24,000) and hospitals (+11,000). Over the past 12 months, hospitals have added 181,000 jobs.
