Sheffield Search Recruits CEO for NETcon

February 13, 2019 – New Zealand-headquartered executive recruiting firm Sheffield Search has recruited John Greenwood as the new CEO of power transmission company NETcon. The assignment was led by Nick Gee, manager of Sheffield’s South Island operation.

NETcon wanted a leader who was tertiary qualified, with prior CEO/GM level experience ideally gained within a contracting/maintenance or infrastructure management related background. Mr. Greenwood fits that bill. With over 35 years’ experience in power utilities, he is a seasoned executive leader with extensive, diverse management skills and a keenly developed understanding of business drivers and change management, said NETcon.

Mr. Greenwood formerly served as CEO of Allied Power Systems NT. He has also served in various C-suite roles with power and water corporations Peak Power Distribution, Network Electrical Servicing and Delta.

In his new role, Mr. Greenwood will be charged with bringing the company to its full potential, said Sheffield Search. He will be expected to help ensure personal safety and the safety of others as a matter of priority, and ensure that all risks are identified and managed. Mr. Greenwood will report monthly to the board, meet regularly with the chairman and other board members as required, prepare a reliable budget and ensure that the board meets statutory requirements, including financial reporting.

In addition, Mr. Greenwood will be responsible for leading business development, identifying and assessing new business opportunities in terms of financial and strategic value, nurturing enduring relationships with key stakeholders and potential customers, and delivering on customer expectations, among a range of other duties.

“This role offers both challenge and great opportunity with the chance to shape an organization as it redefines itself for the future,” said the search firm.
