July 18, 2018 – Executive recruitment firm RM Nephew and Associates has formed a partnership with Cronin Partners International Search, a retained executive search firm headquartered in Dublin.

“Having a trusted partner based in Ireland will enable us to significantly improve our offerings to clients with needs in the European and international markets,” said Bob Nephew, the firm’s managing partner. “We all live and work in a global economy. We want to be sure that we can deliver the absolute best candidates to our clients, wherever in the world they are operating.”

For Cronin Partners, the partnership provides a U.S. platform and access to expertise that will round out the firm’s international reach. Until now, its focus has predominantly been on Ireland, the U.K., mainland Europe, the Caribbean and Asia Pacific. “Both firms are dedicated to serving clients and candidates at the highest level, and our companies are aligned in ethos and approach,” said Ms. Cronin. “We look forward to demonstrating our enhanced services and offerings to both current and new clients.”

Executive Search in Ireland

Ireland has a modern knowledge economy, focusing on services and high-tech industries and dependent on trade, industry and investment. The country’s famous drinks industry employs approximately 92,000 people and contributes billions to the Irish economy, making it one of its biggest sectors. It supports jobs in agriculture, distilling and brewing. But a growing financial services sector base is also important, employing some 35,000 people and contributing billions in taxes annually to the Irish economy. Ireland is, in fact, the seventh largest provider of wholesale financial services in Europe.

This has led to search firms looking to the region for growth. Here’s a sampling from the Hunt Scanlon Media archives:

Odgers Berndtson opened a new office in Dublin. The move will enhance the firm’s capacity to support global companies looking to establish new centers of operation in Europe in readiness for Brexit, according to Odgers. The new location will be led by Damian Ringwood, who becomes managing partner, Odgers Berndtson Dublin.

London-based Hanover Search Group (HSG) opened an office in Dublin and named Simon Waddington to lead the location as a partner. Mr. Waddington, along with Alex Curtis, who heads the firm’s U.K. technology, operations & finance team, will be responsible for growing the banking market sector throughout the country.

Belfast-based 4c Executive Search has acquired MSL Search & Selection in Northern Ireland. This opportunity to purchase MSL – one of Northern Ireland’s oldest and most-established executive recruitment providers – is viewed by 4c founder and managing director Gary Irvine as “the next step in our ambitious growth strategy.
