Philip DeFord

Philip DeFord serves as a partner in the St. Louis office and is a member of the Financial Services Practice. Philip’s expertise lies within the following market segments: Financial Services, Food/Beverage, Life Sciences, Industrial/Manufacturing, and Not for Profit. Within these industries, he successfully completes functional assignments for persons in CEO, CFO, President and top Senior Leadership and Emerging Leadership roles in Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance.

He has significant experience with Private Equity, family-owned and publicly traded companies and understands the unique nuances of recruiting into each of them.

Prior to joining Jobplex/DHR International in 2009, Philip was a member of the banking, finance, private equity, and corporate development practices at Boyden in Singapore. In his 26 years in Asia, Philip mostly worked for financial institutions. Prior to moving overseas, he was in the corporate bank at Chase handling a portfolio of companies in the aerospace and capital goods industries. In addition to his financial services experience, Philip also served as chief financial officer of a garment trading company in Hong Kong. The company traded and manufactured product in a number of markets, enhancing Philip’s understanding of the dynamics of a global enterprise. Philip was also an independent director of a publicly listed company in Singapore.

Philip is also an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth and is an adjunct instructor of international business of the Cook School at St. Louis University.
