Gil Barkon

Gil Barkon is a Partner with Jobplex, Inc. a DHR International company. Jobplex leads the recruiting industry in offering diversified search services for the emerging leader/next generation of executive; thereby complementing DHR International’s senior-level executive search practice. Gil’s practice includes engagements throughout the Private Equity, Real Estate, Financial Services (including legal), and Media sectors across North America.

Prior to joining Jobplex, Gil served as Managing Director of Avenue Pacific, an executive consulting firm focused on investment, financial services, and real estate companies.  At Avenue Pacific, in addition to providing search services to his clients, Gil was tasked with overseeing and developing its offices across the United States.

Previously, Gil served as Partner at Birch Tree Partners, a real estate investment, syndication, and consulting services firm, where he successfully raised equity for multiple transactions. Gil has previous experience in real estate private equity and investment banking, serving as an Associate at CIM Group and a Vice President of George Smith Partners.

Gil began his career as a lawyer, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance serving as an Associate at Simpson, Thacher, and Bartlett LLP, as well as an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & FlomLLP. Gil represented investment banks, private equity firms, and Fortune 100 firms across all industries.

Gil earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Political Science and American Studies from Brandeis University, his JD from the University of Michigan Law School and his MBA in Finance from Columbia University’s Columbia Business School.  Gil resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
