Spinnaker Global Jon Chaplin director executive search

February 15, 2018 – Spinnaker Global Ltd, a Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, U.K.-based recruitment agency specializing in shore-based shipping, has named Jon Chaplin as director of executive search.

“Our executive search business has never been busier,” said Phil Parry, chairman at Spinnaker Global. “While improved market conditions can only help, we have benefited from taking the long-term view that comprehensive shipping knowledge, respect for client and candidate confidentiality and doing the right thing is what clients expect. Naturally, it was important to us to bring in to such a senior role someone whose reputation we know and can trust.”

Mr. Chaplin joins the firm from TradeWinds where he was commercial director and more recently, ran TradeWinds events.

“We are delighted to bring Jon on board,” said Mr. Parry. “We have known him for many years and with his in-depth maritime knowledge and huge network within the industry, he is ideally placed to further develop our executive search business and to help us to continue to serve our clients to the standard they have come to expect.”

Mr. Chaplin said he was looking forward to being an integral part of Spinnaker Global’s team. In working for TradeWinds, he said he was always “well aware of the role Spinnaker has played in a remarkable number of board appointments over the last two decades. I’ve loved working for TradeWinds but after more than 20 years, it’s time for a change, and I’m excited about getting involved with clients on assignments of such importance to their businesses.”
