Solomon Page Appoints VP of Search, Accounting & Finance

April 15, 2024 – New York City headquartered executive search firm Solomon Page has named Shawn Gillespie as vice president, search, accounting & finance. Based in Los Angeles, he will support the firm within the region, leading search engagements with expertise in accounting, finance, treasury, audit, and tax disciplines across all industry verticals. Reporting to Managing Director Tim Calley, Mr. Gillespie will be responsible for both business development initiatives and fulfilling recruitment needs. 

Mr. Gillespie brings an extensive background in the accounting, finance, and recruitment industries. He has five years of search experience placing C-suite and senior level talent across a range of industries and functional areas and spent over a decade in industry and management consulting providing interim advisory support for various Fortune 100 clients. Notable clients included EY, Johnson & Johnson, Hilton Hotels & Resort, Chrysler Group, among others. His work within the finance industry will continue to enrich his relationships with clients and candidates.

Mr. Gillespie previously served as managing director at The Oliver Group. Prior to that, he was a senior executive recruiter with Regal Executive Search. Before this, Mr. Gillespie gained recruiting experience with The Siegfried Group.

Mr. Page provides leadership and direction for the execution of the company’s vision and objectives. In addition, he has built and led the financial services division since the firm’s inception in 1990. For 30 years, the practice has served global financial institutions including investment banks, alternative asset managers, private equity, and private family offices.

Growing Search Firm

In March, Solomon Page expanded with the addition of Austin Walker as director of business development of the professional services, technology division. Under the direction of managing director, Dan Quin, he will lead national business development initiatives. With over 15 years of experience in technology, startups, and sales, Mr. Walker will leverage his background to build strategic partnerships, open new doors, and drive growth opportunities for Solomon Page. “His leadership and industry knowledge positions him as an asset to the team, fostering innovation and success in the ever-changing technology staffing landscape,” the search firm said.

Mr. Walker most recently served as vice president of workforce optimization with Impact Workforce Solutions. Before this, he was national sales director with PeopleReady. Prior to this, Mr. Walker was director of business development with Modjoul.

Earlier this year, Solomon Page expanded its financial services division with the appointment of Lissa Rosenthal as managing director and head of alternative asset management. Ms. Rosenthal is based in the New York City office and focused on expanding the global footprint of the financial services practice, particularly within hedge funds and alternative asset managers.
