Shilton Sharpe Quarry Expands Private Practice Offering In London

August 16, 2016 – Shilton Sharpe Quarry (SSQ), an international legal search consultancy, has added Nick Shillinglaw as a new consultant in its London office to provide a dedicated service to mid-tier, boutique / niche, regional law firms.

Mr. Shillinglaw began his career as a litigation lawyer at some of the leading regional U.K. law firms. He then worked for recruitment consultancy Michael Page International and gained a number of years of experience recruiting for law firms within the mid-market and regionally around the U.K.

SSQ has worked with these types of law firms for some time, however this new hire will allow the business to focus more comprehensively on these clients and give them access to expertise specific to their market.

“In the current market it is important to be able to offer clients a specialist service. The law firms that Nick works with are all specialist, whether it be because they are niche or because they serve a specific sector, client base or region; from a recruitment strategy point of view they need to work with a search consultant who genuinely understands them and this is what Nick is able to offer,” said Nick Shilton, SSQ chief executive officer. “He trained and practiced in leading regional firms and has an in-depth understanding of the way these firms work and the kinds of lawyers they are looking for to take them into the future.”

SSQ is well-established as a leader in legal search in London, particularly with the top tier U.K. and U.S. practices. “I am very excited about my new role to better establish our capabilities and track record with the mid-tier, West End, regional and leading niche law firms,” said Mr. Shillinglaw.
