ON Partners Recruits CEO for Inkling Systems

January 31, 2019 – Executive search firm ON Partners has recruited Jeff Carr as the new CEO of Inkling Systems in San Francisco. He replaces Matt MacInnis, who co-founded the company in 2009 and has led it through progressive stages of growth and acquisition. Partner Jeff Hocking led the search assignment.

A veteran enterprise software executive with deep domain expertise in the HCM and learning and development markets, Mr. Carr brings more than two decades’ experience to the role. Previously, he was COO of Zenefits, and prior to that he was CEO of PeopleFluent. He was formerly president of Saba, EVP of sales and COO of Taleo, CEO of Motiva, president of RightWorks and division president at PeopleSoft.

New Position

In his new role, Mr. Carr is charged with leading the company through aggressive expansion into new markets with attention to sales and customer success.

It brings together learning and doing to improve the employee experience by delivering mobile, easy access to the training and resources workers need to succeed. Inkling was acquired by Marlin Equity Partners last year.

Mr. Hocking identifies board members, chief executive officers and other senior-level talent across functions for technology companies and private equity firms. His clients span the software, hardware, networking, semiconductor and outsourcing industries. He joined ON Partners in 2017 from Korn Ferry, where he was regional market leader for the company’s technology practice.
