NGS Global Opens New Office in Miami

September 7, 2022 – Executive search firm NGS Global has expanded with the addition of a new office in Miami. “Over the last five years, we have ramped up our capabilities in the Southeastern part of the U.S. as well as Latin America, where our global client organizations continue to expand their own footprints in building regional offices in the Miami and broader Florida marketplace,” said David Nosal, chairman and managing partner of NGS Global Americas. “As we are approached on a regular basis to assist these clients in finding senior talent in this region, we have continued to expand our footprint in Miami.”

“Sam Barone will be key to leading our efforts as the director of corporate and business development, based in Miami, along with a number of our other team members who are currently active and working with our numerous clients in the region,” Mr. Nosal said.

Mr. Barone is focused on conducting executive search work for both technology and consumer-technology oriented companies as well as building, with a number of other NGS Global consultants, one of the top sports and entertainment practices in the industry.

Miami, a major center of commerce and finance, boasts a strong international business community. Tourism remains a mainstay. Renowned for its beaches, conventions, festivals and other events, the city annually draws over 38 million visitors, who spend upwards of $17 billion. The Art Deco District in South Beach, in particular, is renowned for its nightclubs, beaches, historical buildings, and shopping.

The Economy of Tomorrow

With Miami mayor Francis X. Suarez and a crowd of investors at the helm, from Founders Fund’s Keith Rabois to Ben Ling of Bling Capital, funding to Miami-based start-ups soared in 2021, with Q4 2021 alone seeing a record $2.2 billion invested into the city’s tech ecosystem.

With offices across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa, NGS Global boasts a consultant team with expertise and broad networks in a variety of industries and functional areas.

NGS Global recently added an office in Toronto. The firm appointed José Carlos Hassan Suarez as partner to be based in Toronto as well as to support key initiatives in the Latin America region. He has extensive, global understanding and a strong track record, having worked with clients throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and is an experienced professional with cross-border and multi-cultural capabilities.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hassan Suarez has recruited executives in most key functional areas across a broad array of industries. He was formerly partner and China country manager at Zavala Civitas Executive Search and co-founded the travel company Mondevia. Mr. Hassan Suarez, who is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, joined an Americas team comprised of 12 partners across 11 offices throughout the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, and Canada.

Carbon Neutral Status

Last year, NGS Global Americas announced that it has achieved carbon neutral status, the first search firm to do so. A comprehensive measurement of sources of carbon emissions such as business travel and external service providers has allowed NGS to not only offset past emissions, said the firm, but to make more sustainable choices for the future. The effort, spearheaded by Steve Lavelle of NGS Global U.K., has already led to direct investment in renewable energy sources and reforestation projects, as well as a comprehensive review of all key service providers.

“Through this important initiative, driven by the insight and vision of Steve Lavelle, managing partner of our London office, we will do our part to become a truly sustainable global organization,” said Mr. Nosal. “While we do not have a large carbon footprint, finding ways to reduce it even further is a worthwhile goal. Throughout our 34 offices, efforts are underway to adopt principles and practices to reduce carbon emission, including evaluating our suppliers based on their carbon emission status and making direct investments into renewable energy projects for our offices.”
