Miramar Global Names Managing Director of Miramar Talent

David Winch managing director Miramar Talent

May 2, 2018 – U.K.-based Miramar Global Executive Search has continued its expansion, adding David Winch as managing director of its recently launched service offering Miramar Talent. Miramar Talent is an extension of Miramar Global’s “executive search methodology to the layers below senior leadership,” said the firm. The goal is to “positively impact customers deeper in their organizational structures to support their ongoing transformations and growth.”

Miramar Talent has been designed to help organizations take control of their talent agenda, have a greater impact on diversity, meet the demands of digital transformation, or simply refresh their business with high performing teams, said the firm.

Mr. Winch’s career has involved leading recruitment for large corporates, most recently as head of recruitment in Europe for Nokia. Previously, he was an executive recruiter for several boutique executive search firms. “His knowledge of the total talent cycle from a customer perspective is invaluable in ensuring Miramar Talent’s services translate into real value across the business, HR and talent stakeholders,” said Ross Bailey, founding partner at Miramar Global.

Talent Acquisition Veteran

Based in the Miramar’s London office, Mr. Winch joins the firm with over 20 years of experience in leading recruitment teams within global technology corporates as well as boutique search firms. In his role with Nokia, he led and managed regional executive hiring. He was responsible for the design, creation and scaling of the Europe recruitment model supporting a 38,000 employee region. Before that, he was talent acquisitions manager for EMEA with Juniper Networks. Earlier in his career, Mr. Winch was with boutique search firms Expand Executive Search and UNITE.

“Delivery of quality hires must always be the primary goal of recruitment, but focusing only on the acquisition of talent omits significant value and potential competitive advantage that can be gained by this broader approach,” said Mr. Winch. “Having led recruitment functions in-house for over a decade, I recognize our customers’ challenges. Business models are changing and we believe recruitment models must adapt also, so that a more strategic approach to non-executive recruitment can move our customer’s ahead of their talent demand, accelerate transformation and maximize their investment.”

Expanding Search Firm

The firm ended last year by merging with DES Recruitment in the Greater Philadelphia area. John Hodge, founder and managing partner of DES Recruitment, became managing partner in North America for Miramar. For the past 15 years, DES Recruitment has identified and attracted senior-level executives for clients nationwide. Mr. Hodge has over 20 years of experience in management consulting, business development and executive search for a broad range of clients within the technology, life sciences, manufacturing and financial services markets.

“This a critical moment in the journey for both the DES and Miramar teams,” said Andrew Stoneham-Knott, managing partner of Miramar Global. “We combined our shared expertise with a unified purpose to deliver best-in-class service and uniquely positions Miramar Global to meet the demands of our multi-national client base,” he said. “It is our customers who are at the heart of this process and we are focused on the scope that this merger offers us to further enhance the quality and depth of our offering for their benefit.”

Miramar Global has forged a reputation serving U.S. multinationals in the Americas as well as across EMEA and Asia. DES will bring expanded North American coverage from its offices in the Greater Philadelphia area.
