Major, Lindsey & Africa Expands New York Office

January 26, 2016 – Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA) has added Stacey Breen and Peter Van Son as directors in its partner practice group in the firm’s New York office.

Ms. Breen is a litigator with over 15 years of experience. She was previously a partner at law firm Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz in New York where she focused on class action litigation, securities litigation, derivative litigation and mass tort litigation.

Mr. Van Son is a legal operations executive and attorney with a successful track record at major AmLaw 100 firms. He has extensive experience overseeing law firm strategic pricing, training, marketing, business development, finance and budgeting, staffing, recruiting and general operations. He joins Major, Lindsey & Africa from Proskauer Rose where he was the legal director  of the Corporate Department. Prior to Proskauer Rose, Mr. Van Son was at WilmerHale working as legal director of its transactional department advising the chair in strategic leadership. He also spent nine years at Orrick as chief practice officer of the transactions group and a corporate senior associate.

“Stacey and Peter join our specialized team of legal professionals who understand the nuances associated with recruiting law firm partners,” said John Cashman, MLA partner and vice president for law firm recruiting. “As we continue to build on our core practice groups, we’re always looking for strong, knowledgeable talent who add to our extensive group of excellent recruiters.”

Just recently, MLA named Jennifer Silver as executive director and global head of marketing and communications. She is based in the firm’s Boston office and will be responsible for strategic marketing for both MLA and Allegis Partners, its sister company focused on executive search.
