February 7, 2018 – Executive search firm Kingsley Gate Partners has expanded with the additions of Jim Thompson, Victor Kleinman and Alison Woodhead as senior partners.
Dr. Thompson brings more than three decades of experience in consulting to Kingsley Gate. He specializes in applied research. He has designed and developed instruments to help companies with executive evaluation and placement, organizational assessment and strategic planning. He was also instrumental in designing the concepts and algorithms behind the company’s online structured interview, Athena, which is an integral part of the firm’s Synchronous Fit framework.
“Jim’s work on Athena has provided a platform for ensuring the perfect strategic fit between executives and companies,” said Umesh Ramakrishnan, senior partner in the office of the CEO at Kingsley Gate. “His contributions to retained executive search are invaluable, and we look forward to his contribution in extending our firm’s expertise in organizational and business psychology.”
Dr. Thompson previously served as a partner with Somerville Partners, a management consulting firm that applies the science of psychology to business challenges. Prior to that, he was the director of leadership and organizational development at Alabama Power Company. Earlier in his career, he served in the Air Force, Army and Navy Reserve as a clinical psychologist responsible for organizational effectiveness.

Ms. Woodhead, who will be based out of the firm’s Los Angeles office, brings more than a decade of retained executive search and marketing experience to Kingsley Gate. Her expertise spans a variety of industries and functions with a track record placing executives in finance, general management, operations and marketing roles within private equity, technology, and CPG companies.
“Alison has a diverse skill set that will help us continue our efforts to ensure the perfect strategic fit between executives and companies,” said Nancy Albertini, senior partner, office of the CEO. “She brings unique insights and background across a variety of key industries that will help us to continue to transform the field of retained executive search.”
Prior to joining Kingsley Gate, Ms. Woodhead was a senior client partner at Morgan Samuels, and was responsible for securing, leading and executing retained executive search and talent consulting assignments on a global basis. She also worked with clients to support their human capital needs, including succession planning, talent assessment and executive coaching. Earlier in her career, she worked in brand management and marketing roles at The Walt Disney Company.
Founded in 2006, Kingsley Gate recruits senior leadership for private equity and venture capital portfolio businesses and Fortune 100 companies. Headquartered in Dallas, TX, the firm employs consultants and recruiters with expertise in private equity, life sciences, technology manufacturing and professional services.
Recently, Kingsley Gate introduced its new Synchronous Fit framework that leverages scientific cloud-based tools combined with insights from search consultants to provide the best fit between executives and companies. “The objective of the methodology is to ensure a lasting fit between client and candidate,” said Mr. Ramakrishnan. “Synchronous Fit accomplishes this by ensuring that risks are mitigated in the search process. This is achieved in two ways: first, by splitting the interview process between expert humans and intelligent cloud-based software,” he said. “Second, by quantitatively and separately scoring the experience, the attributes, the values and the references of the candidate.”
The firm also launched a new practice serving the financial services industry. The effort is led by two new senior partners, Mark Esposito and Ms. Scott, who both recently joined Kingsley Gate, also from Sheffield Haworth. With more than two decades of experience in the executive search industry, both Mr. Esposito and Ms. Scott bring financial services expertise and industry market intelligence to the firm. Kingsley Gate opened offices in New York and San Francisco recently to support the firm’s continued growth and expansion initiatives.
