ZRG Names Chief Revenue Officer
March 4, 2021 – ZRG has named Justin Pinchback as chief revenue officer and head of practices. He will report directly to the CEO Larry Hartmann. “We laid out a spec: The dream player came with a great education, a consulting pedigree, and deep exposure to data-driven solutions in the human capital market,” said Mr. Hartmann. “We wanted someone who was an innovative thinker, someone who brought new perspectives to help us grow, a true accelerator to our team, and someone who could help us with diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.”
After completing his MBA at Harvard Business School, where he was a Goldman Sachs Fellow, Mr. Pinchback moved on to Bain & Company, where he focused on private equity diligence, human capital advisory and merger integration for the firm’s clients. While at Bain, he helped the company drive campus and diversity recruitment efforts. Mr. Pinchback later earned talent leadership roles at top financial services institutions including Citadel and Bridgewater Associates, where he built talent acquisition capabilities and drove innovation. His work has been featured in Harvard Business Review and at global conferences like LinkedIn’s “Talent Connect.” Most recently, Mr. Pinchback served as the chief people officer of a Warburg Pincus-backed logistics brokerage, where he was an advisor to the C-suite on all human capital issues.
New Position
“Justin will be responsible for driving revenue across all verticals by installing new practice area capabilities and leading recruitment efforts to expand the base of managing directors and principals,” said Mr. Hartmann. “Strengthening those teams is ultimately about giving our clients the best possible placement results. We’re looking forward to his leadership driving the strategic integration of acquisitions as we continue to grow.”
“I have a passion for solving difficult talent problems, a client-centric mentality, and want to develop industry leading human capital technology, so ZRG provides a great fit,” said Mr. Pinchback. “With the Zi Platform’s ability to provide objective data on candidate fit, instead of a subjective impression, I think we’ll continue to do great things.”
ZRG, founded in 1999, is a progressive mid-sized global executive search firm and one of the fastest growing in the search industry. It provides a full suite of executive, middle-management, and customized search solutions through its offices in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. The firm finds leaders across a broad spectrum of business markets, including aerospace, consumer, education, healthcare services and solutions, industrial, life sciences, non-profit, private equity and venture capital, and technology.
Other Recent Additions
The addition of Mr. Pinchback follows a recent wave of new hires at ZRG. In January, the firm added Lee Golodny as managing director in New York City. Mr. Golodny has seven years of executive search experience dedicated exclusively to life sciences, having placed more than 100 executives within the industry. Mr. Golodny has experience developing long-lasting relationships within life sciences functions, including clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, quality assurance and clinical operations. In addition, he has placed candidates at the C-suite, EVP/SVP, and executive levels in multiple functional domains spanning the drug development lifecycle and worked within several therapeutic areas including oncology and rare disease.
ZRG closed 2020 with the opening of a new office in Dubai with the addition of Tim Rotherham as managing director and member of the firm’s financial services and private equity practice. “ZRG is now poised to support clients within the UAE through our global financial services and private equity practice,” said Mr. Hartmann. “Additionally, ZRG will offer MENA clients the considerable practice expertise already available in the U.S. and Europe through the consumer, healthcare, life sciences, industrial, aerospace and defense, and technology practices.”
ZRG Acquires Turnkey Search
ZRG has made a major move into the sports, entertainment & media sectors by acquiring Turnkey Search. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Renamed TurnkeyZRG, all Turnkey staff and assets merge into ZRG and the firm will continue to be led by Len Perna, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Turnkey. Turnkey will now adopt ZRG’s tech-enabled, data-driven approach to the search process which it says will give the newly merged firm a competitive edge in the hunt for sports, media, and entertainment talent. Larry Hartmann, CEO of ZRG, called the deal a “blockbuster acquisition.”
In October, ZRG expanded with the addition of Lisa Peacock-Edwards as managing director and leader of its digital, data, analytics and AI practice. “Lisa’s track record of success spans countries and continents,” said Mr. Hartmann. “As a member of the ZRG team and leader of the digital, data, analytics and AI practice, I’m confident in the successful placements she will make on behalf of her clients in the digital space and beyond.”
Ms. Peacock-Edwards has 20 years of experience working with large enterprises and private equity-backed business. Her work has focused on organizations experiencing growth and transformation across digital, technology, data and the customer, including high-profile digital and data transformation assignments for Fortune 50 companies and charters to drive growth within private equity portfolio companies.
