The Loring Group Opens Doors

February 18, 2020 – The executive search industry is being disrupted by the entrance of a multitude of new players offering advanced business models and new technologies. The latest: Veteran executive recruiter Steve Caliger has launched The Loring Group.

Mr. Caliger has had a distinguished career as a sales leader and executive search consultant in the technology industry. He is a technology professional who has held leadership positions with several industry icons. With more than 20 years of executive search and consulting experience, Mr. Caliger develops senior leadership teams for sales, finance, product, engineering and information technology. In addition, he has done work for consumer products, financial services and non-profit organizations.

Prior to establishing The Loring Group, Mr. Caliger led the North America technology practice for Stanton Chase and was global sector leader for digital transformation. He also held leadership positions with technology leaders like AT&T, Cisco Systems and IBM, as well as start-ups and early-stage companies.

Mr. Caliger is joined by partners Rich Kampmann and Dan Counts.

Mr. Kampmann has more than 16 years of executive search and leadership consulting expertise. In addition, he has 14 years of leadership experience in the banking and wealth management industries. Mr. Kampmann has performed hundreds of searches for companies around the world at executive and senior management levels. He has supported commercial banks, wealth and asset managers, for both publicly and privately held concerns. He has also done work for industrial and consumer products companies. Prior to The Loring Group, Mr. Kampmann worked for global executive firms such as Stanton Chase, was an equity partner with Boyden and started his executive search career as a principal with Korn Ferry.

After 20 years in the technology sector, Mr. Counts embarked on his executive search career, working with start-ups to multi-billion-dollar companies. Prior to The Loring Group, he worked for Stanton Chase and also ran his own boutique firm for more than 10 years. His recruiting practice focuses on chief- and VP-level technology, professional services and consumer product industries.

Bernard Layton and J. James O’Malley have launched Comhar Partners. Comhar was formed to provide independent recruiting expertise in partnership with the firm’s clients to help solve their full spectrum talent management challenges. Comhar Partners, led by former Stanton Chase executives, was formed to focus on providing recruiting solutions in consumer products and services, education and non-profit, financial services, healthcare and life science, industrial, private equity, professional services and technology industries. The firm is headquartered in Chicago with specialized recruiting consultants based in seven offices across the country, including New York City, San Francisco, Denver, Atlanta, South Florida and Mid-Atlantic, with additional offices to be announced in 2020.

Mary Lee Montague has announced the launch of Montague & Associates, a national firm based in Chicago that specializes in C-suite searches for non-profit organizations. “This is a pivotal time for the non-profit sector, which needs dynamic leaders just as critically as for-profit firms,” said Ms. Montague, an executive search professional for more than two decades.

Veteran search consultant Christopher Sheeron launched strategic advisory firm Grayson & CoWith the increasing need for sophisticated communications counsel, coupled with the burgeoning war for talent, the firm and its partners are looking to leverage their experience and expertise to solve clients’ most pressing advocacy and human capital challenges. “I am thrilled to launch Grayson & Co. to provide a specialized toolkit for an array of organizations to address political uncertainty, corporate complexity and technological innovation,” said Mr. Sheeron.
