The International Executive Search Federation Names President
November 1, 2021 – The International Executive Search Federation (IESF) has appointed Gertjan van de Groep of IESF The Netherlands (Van de Groep & Olsthoorn Executive Search) as its new president. He takes over from Victor Carulla from IESF Spain (Headway Executive Search) who is stepping down after completing three years as president.
Mr. van de Groep has been a partner of IESF since 2015. He has served on the IESF board as treasurer for the last three years. “I’m looking forward to serving as president. IESF’s success is built on a strong foundation of trust across cultures and dedicated member firms driven to deliver leaders across the globe for their clients,” he said. “My goal as the new president is to retain and expand our partner network. Also, to showcase our thought leadership and creating engagement and added value for our partners, candidates, and clients. With a professional and simple process and high-quality standard. I’m a transparent leader and want to make room for new initiatives.” Besides the rotation of presidency, the IESF leadership council also appointed Stephan Löw of IESF Germany (Topos Personalberatung) as new treasurer. He will work closely with Mr. van de Groep and the leadership council members of IESF.

Newly Launched Advisory Board
The International Executive Search Federation has introduced an advisory board. “The aim is that this body will not only enhance the international network reputation and credibility but will also provide the president and current members of the leadership council with valuable knowledge, information, lessons learned, insights and ideas,” IESF said. “The main goal of the advisory board is being a sparring partner for the president and the leadership counsel of IESF.
Tim Smith, founder of the ASLON Group Executive Search in the U.S. – one of the longest (former) partners of IESF – has been appointed the organization’s first board member. A number of reputable executive search industry professionals and former IESF presidents, will join the IESF advisory board in the course of the year and will report directly to the group’s president.
