April 29, 2016 – Penrhyn International, a global network of executive search firms, has appointed Michael Herst (pictured) as chairman and Charles Lew as director and treasurer.
Mr. Herst, a partner at U.K. member Osprey Clarke, has played an active role since joining the Penrhyn board in 2012, including periods as both treasurer and vice chairman.
Outgoing chair Connie Adair, managing partner of U.S. member Taylor Winfield, said: “It has been an honor to serve as chair for the last four years; we have been able to implement real change in our organization over this period which has allowed us to deliver ever greater levels of search capabilities to our international clients. I am excited to continue working alongside Michael in building an even stronger future for Penrhyn in my new role as vice chairman.”
“I am greatly honored to have taken on the role of chairman of Penrhyn International at such an important time in our development,” said Mr. Herst. “Under my predecessor Connie Adair’s expert stewardship, we have seen our organization evolve into a leading executive search network, whose success has been built around combining a genuine global footprint with locally driven industry insight and market intelligence, in order to deliver access to world class talent for our clients.”
Recruiter Rankings: Global 20
This year Hunt Scanlon reviewed an exhaustive list of global recruiting providers and culled it down to the top 20 global talent providers that now dominate the recruiting business worldwide.
Mr. Herst’s career started in accounting, where he gained commercial and corporate experience working in the profession, and as head of finance of a major international shipping group. He transferred his business knowledge into executive search, where over the past 30 years he has enjoyed a varied career.
He conducts senior level search for major global corporations, with a particular focus on telecommunications, infrastructure, transportation and logistics. He joined Osprey Clarke in 2008.
Mr. Lew established Coleman Lew & Associates in 1979. Over the past 37 years he has conducted more than 375 search engagements, and along the way earned a national reputation within the search industry. The majority of his searches have involved placing CEOs, presidents, and general managers or their direct reports.
Penrhyn recently expanded into Asia Pacific with the addition of The People at Work, a regional executive search firm with offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Manila. Joo-Lee Aw, founder and managing partner, is joined on The People at Work leadership team by Chong Lian Ong (partner, Singapore) and Cesar Ginete (partner, Philippines). Established in 2000, The People at Work provides executive search and talent advisory services in Asia Pacific, covering sectors including industrial, automotive, consumer, e-commerce, healthcare, logistics, insurance, financial services, infrastructure and real estate.
