Pedersen & Partners Names Consumer Products and Retail Head

June 29, 2016 – Executive search firm Pedersen & Partners has added Jan Großmann to its German team as a client partner and head of consumer products and retail. Mr. Großmann brings a wealth of expertise to the firm, with more than three decades of substantial management and leadership experience in the executive search, FMCG, retail, and media industries, and numerous completed cross-border assignments in executive search, executive assessment and board services.

Prior to joining Pedersen & Partners, Mr. Großmann was a senior partner with Stanton Chase, where he led and executed general management, marketing, sales, business development, and operations search mandates. Before transitioning to executive recruiting, he held several commercial, sales and marketing leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Tchibo, PepsiCo, and Bertelsmann.

“Jan is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Guido Bormann, country manager for Germany at Pedersen & Partners. “His strong client-driven reputation, extensive management experience and deep contacts in the business community will bring invaluable expertise to our clients, and the firm’s expanding business endeavors in the region and internationally.”

Germany is the largest national economy in Europe, and the fourth-largest by nominal GDP in the world. The country’s service sector makes up 70 percent of its GDP and nearly 40 percent of Fortune Global 500 companies are headquartered here. Well-known companies in the country include Mercedes-Benz, BMW, SAP, Siemens, Volkswagen, Adidas, Audi, Allianz, Porsche, Bayer, BASF, Bosch, and Nivea.

“Demand across the consumer products and retail sector varies greatly throughout both the Western European and CEE markets,” said Mr. Großmann. “The migration of talent is fueled by constant adaptations to the business model, and this in turn necessitates innovative approaches towards recruiting senior leaders who will excel at managing people and capital resources in fluctuating consumer markets. Given the considerable potential of the region, I am delighted to join Pedersen & Partners’ world-class team and catalyze our efforts in providing unparalleled talent acquisition services.”

Pedersen & Partners has recently expanded its footprint in various parts of the globe.

Just recently, the firm added Paola Gutierrez Velandia to its Madrid team as head of board services for Iberia and Latin America. She has over 16 years of market leading expertise in working with a wide range of clients and key stakeholders in the areas of corporate governance, board services, shareholder engagement, and public affairs across Latin America, U.S., MENA and Central Europe.

The firm also named Frank Behrendt as a principal and head of its financial services practice group in Africa. Mr. Behrendt is an emerging markets specialist and has originated and executed senior level searches for banks and financial institutions across Asia Pacific while based in Singapore, and Pan-Africa from London and Johannesburg.

Pedersen & Partners also opened a new office in Lisbon, Portugal. Margarita Hernández now serves as the firm’s country manager for Portugal and also oversees executive search engagements in Angola. She joined the firm from Accenture.

The firm also opened a new office in Mexico City. Luis Miguel Vilatela joined the firm as the country manager for Mexico and head the Mexico City office. This became Pedersen & Partners’ seventh established office in the Americas, following the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
