Nexus Search Partners was launched in 2022. The firm’s executive search process is built on four comprehensive pillars: in-depth cultural assessments, transparency and accountability, diverse candidate slates, and SVP+ executive coaching. Nexus Search Partners places cross-functional executives in consumer products and services, energy, financial and professional services, life sciences, private equity, and technology.

Thaddeus Jones is founder and managing partner of Nexus Search Partners. He has spent nearly two decades leading human resources talent management teams for some of the world’s largest companies, including Amazon, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and Target. He most recently served as executive vice president and chief talent officer for Red Ventures, a multibillion-dollar operating private equity company with more than 21 companies in its portfolio. Red Ventures is also one of the largest digital media companies in the U.S.

Evolving Role

The chief revenue officer essentially owns everything that goes to market – sales, account management, customer success, and sometimes marketing as well. Finding these types of leaders has kept search firms busy. Here is a sampling from the Hunt Scanlon Media archives:

Acertitude has recruited Dan Miller as the new chief revenue officer of TAK Broadband, a Platinum Equity portfolio company. “This placement marks another chapter in Acertitude’s nearly decade-long partnership with Platinum Equity, which has yielded more than 200 executive placements across both the firm and its portfolio companies,” Acertitude said in a LinkedIn post. The search was led by co-founder and managing partner, Kevin O’Neill, principal, Heather Kivett, and supported by senior associate Lauren Boone. Mr. Miller’s most recent prior experience was serving as the company’s president of Broadband Solutions. His professional background also includes serving as president of Mears Broadband, a subsidiary of Mears Group and Quanta Services, for a period before joining TAK. While at Mears, he helped build it into an industry leader.

San Diego, CA-headquartered Bespoke Partners recently helped to recruit Dave Vonk as chief revenue officer of Fusion Risk Management. Tess Fischer and Medha Raj led the assignment. “We are thrilled to welcome Dave as our chief revenue officer, especially as Fusion continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of organizations worldwide,” said Michael Campbell, CEO of Fusion Risk Management. “Dave’s extensive experience in revenue leadership, deep understanding of the risk and technology sectors, and ability to foster strategic partnerships make him an ideal fit for our company. His expertise will be instrumental in accelerating expansion and ensuring Fusion remains at the forefront of the industry.”

Kevin Barry of SPMB Executive Search has helped to place John Sapone as the new chief revenue officer of NinjaOne. “It was a privilege to help bring aboard a proven revenue leader whose impact at companies like Snowflake, ServiceNow, Nimble Storage, and Data Domain speaks for itself,” Mr. Barry said in a LinkedIn post. “John’s track record scaling world-class teams and delivering results makes him the ideal leader to guide NinjaOne through its next phase of growth. Thank you to co-founders Sal Sferlazza and Christopher Matarese for entrusting SPMB with this critical hire, and to Brad Delaplane for the partnership along the way. It’s searches and outcomes like these that make the work so rewarding. Can’t wait to see what’s ahead for the NinjaOne team.”
