The New York Pops Turns to Greenwich Harbor Partners for Board Directors

June 30, 2016 – Greenwich Harbor Partners has placed Liz Ritzcovan as a member of the board of directors at The New York Pops. She is the sixth director to be placed on the Pops board by the Greenwich, Conn-based search firm.

Ms. Ritzcovan has 20 years of work history increasing profits, building businesses and expanding client and partner bases for various organizations, ranging from an entrepreneurial start-ups to leading multi-million dollar global corporations. She has expertise in print, digital, broadcast and emerging media strategy and new advertising models.

Currently, she is the chief revenue officer for Bazaar Voice. Ms. Ritzcovan previously served as global chief revenue officer for Sizmek, chief revenue officer for Parade Media Group, vice president marketing solutions at Yahoo, and president of corporate sales and client services, digital at Time Inc.

“We have helped reshape the entire board with six placements — including me,” said Carrie Pryor, the search firm’s managing partner. “We worked with the chairman of the board, Jim Read, to bring a mix of technology and finance executives into the organization. The Pops is thriving with a big outreach to public school children in struggling neighborhoods. We have helped bring engaged, connected executives onto the board as we expand the mission of the Pops into summer performances as well as continuing to sell out its concerts at Carnegie Hall.”

The other board members recruited to the The Pops’ board by Ms. Pryor and her team include: Jorge Espinel, head of global business development at Spotify; John Gardner, co-founder and CFO of Learnvest; Matthew Gormly, managing partner at Wicks Capital; and Andrew Kaslow, retired chief human resources officer (CHRO) of Cerberus Capital. 

The New York Pops is the largest independent pops orchestra in the U.S., and the only professional symphonic orchestra in New York City specializing in popular music. Led by music director Steven Reineke, the orchestra performs an annual subscription series at Carnegie Hall, enjoying one of their highest subscription renewal rates. The New York Pops annual birthday gala is celebrated each spring, raising funds for the orchestra and its education programs.
