Lucas Group Names Leaders In Chicago, New York
May 26, 2017 – Executive search firm Lucas Group has promoted two key players to bolster its ranks. Justin Martinez was named managing partner and leader of the firm’s Chicago-based information technology practice and Aaron Silbert was tapped as branch practice manager to spearhead its HR business in New York City.
In his new role, Mr. Martinez leads an IT recruitment team with extensive expertise. He joined Lucas Group in 2015 as an executive search consultant in the IT division. Previously, he led the sales team at Groupon.
Clients Struggling for IT Talent
“The Chicago IT market is extremely competitive with unemployment rates at records lows,” said Steven Robinson, general manager of Lucas Group’s information technology executive recruitment services. “Many companies are struggling to recruit and retain specialized IT talent. Justin innately understands how to address these market challenges by building long-term relationships with IT professionals. He is a natural leader for our dynamic Chicago practice.”
Mr. Martinez, who specializes in the Internet of Things, spoke of the respect he has for those he is now leading, and of their commitment to their clients. “Each member of our Chicago team is a subject matter expert in a specific IT niche, such as cybersecurity, data science, and application development,” he said. “Our recruiters are on the industry’s front lines, closely monitoring evolving trends and tapping into deep, passive networks to connect companies with talent they would otherwise be unable to source,” he added.
“My mission is simple: handle all the back-end work to make the process as seamless as possible for job candidates and companies,” Mr. Martinez said. “Our Chicago team ensures every candidate we present is prequalified and excited about the position and that clients are excited to interview the candidate. We consider both how a candidate can meet a company’s future needs and how that company will support a candidate’s professional trajectory.”

With more than three years of healthcare recruiting experience, Mr. Silbert joined Lucas Group four years ago as an executive search consultant in its HR division, where he focused on sourcing leading HR candidates throughout the Northeast.
“Aaron has been a vital member of our human resources practice group, and we look forward to seeing his continued success as he grows and leads the HR branch in New York,” said Aram Lulla, general manager of Lucas Group’s HR practice group. “We are confident in Aaron’s ability to elevate the New York HR branch to new levels of success while providing the highest level of service possible to his team’s customers.”

IT Expansion
Lucas Group’s IT practice has expanded in recent months. The firm recently added Angelica Chadwick in Tampa and JT Mackey in Dallas as managing partners. Ms. Chadwick has 12 years of full lifecycle recruitment and business development experience. Ms. Mackey’s professional background includes coaching IT talent through the recruitment process for local and national firms.
In February, Lucas Group appointed Marc Wilder as a managing partner and leader for its technology division in New York City. He was brought on to help meet the increased demands of clients and candidates in the New York tri-state market. Mr. Wilder has more than a decade of sales, recruiting and leadership experience. Most recently, he held the position of director of business development / principal recruiter at Harvey Nash USA, where he created and employed new sales and recruiting initiatives, coached and trained various associates.
Last year, Lucas Group appointed Laura Kesler as managing partner for its information technology offices in San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix. She manages a team of five recruiters between San Diego and Las Vegas with team growth projected to reach 10 in the immediate future. Previously, Ms. Kesler was a managing director at Netview, a national technology solutions and IT recruiting provider.
“The IT industry moves at a rapid pace, and staying on top of the latest developments can be a challenge for even the most experienced recruiters,” said Mr. Robinson.
