Hanold Associates Recruits CHRO and CMO for Fortis Private Bank
June 17, 2016 – Executive search firm Hanold Associates has recruited Gaurav Sehgal as chief human resources officer (CHRO) and David Sarjantson as chief marketing officer (CMO) at Denver-based Fortis Private Bank. Headquartered in Denver, Fortis offers a comprehensive suite of banking, private wealth management, and investment management services.
As a key member of the Fortis leadership team, Mr. Sehgal will partner with senior leaders to provide consultative HR support and counsel, align business needs to drive the bank’s human capital strategy and determine how to best use its talent base to innovate and support business objectives.
Mr. Sehgal was previously with Mariano’s (Roundy’s Supermarkets) where he was vice president of human resources and responsible for all HR processes in the Chicago market.
The role of the CHRO has changed dramatically over the years, say recruiters specializing in the sector. Once a mid-level staff position, the head of human resources today sits at the elbow of the CEO and maintains one of the most influential positions within senior management. The job now plays an integral, strategic part in driving a company forward.

Mr. Sarjantson will partner with senior leaders in his responsibilities for all marketing and public relations activities including branding, internet communication, public relations, consumer outreach and investor relations.
Formerly with Microsoft as director of search engagement and relationship marketing, Mr. Sarjantson brings with him extensive marketing experience in both transformative and growth environments.
As business becomes more global and complex, and power shifts from producers of goods and services to consumers, a chief marketing officer’s (CMO) responsibility of planning and coordinating an organization’s marketing activities has become much more challenging, according to recruiters specializing in the function.
“CEO and board chairman Brian Soeldner has an outstanding eye for talent and their potential, capacity and capability and a compelling approach that attracts and inspires distinctively talented people,” said CEO Jason Hanold.
Headquartered in Chicago, Hanold Associates is a boutique search firm specializing in HR officer assignments, serving clients such as REI, Patagonia, Nike, UFC, Moderna, Marvin Companies, Medtronic, Fiat-Chrysler, Godiva, eBay, Northwestern, Fossil, Carnival Corporation, Northwestern Medicine, Outward Bound and Vail Resorts.
