Global Healthcare Services Lands CEO for Weatherford Rehab Hospital

August 17, 2018 – Following a national search, Rocky River, OH-headquartered executive search firm Global Healthcare Services (GHS) has recruited Robert Ward as the new CEO of Weatherford Rehabilitation Hospital.

Senior recruiter Tom Cavalli led the assignment.

Weatherford Rehabilitation Hospital, based in Weatherford, TX, specializes in the care of complex medical and rehabilitative patients who have suffered a stroke, spinal cord injury, major multiple trauma, amputation, brain injury or neurological disorder.

Mr. Ward brings a wealth of experience in healthcare senior leadership. For the last five years, he has been CEO of Select Rehabilitation Hospital in San Antonio, TX.  Before that, he was CEO of Reliant Austin Rehabilitation Hospital. He holds a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, MO.

“I have a passion for serving others and leading a team that delivers exceptional patient care in the community that I live,” said Mr. Ward. “I look forward to developing strong relationships with the community, medical staff and hospital staff. Living in the Weatherford area will be a positive and new experience.”

Mr. Ward said he expects that his sector will see an increased focus on quality outcomes along all areas of the continuum of care. He also believes that the industry will experience increased activity in mergers and acquisitions along with new partnerships such as insurance companies, healthcare providers and physicians coming together to form new comprehensive care models and products.

He added that he was much impressed by GHS Recruiting’s efforts in the recruitment process: “I appreciated the timely follow-ups, straight talk and support,” he said. “They did a great job.”

Healthcare Specialists

GHS has focused on the healthcare industry since 1998. The firm recruits nationally for all hospital- and healthcare-related positions from staff level through the C-Suite. Its specialties include: nursing leadership, imaging/allied health leadership, IT, health information management, pharmacy, facilities & materials management, imaging and nurse staff, and the C-suite (CEO, COO, CFO and CNO roles). GHS also offers a full complement of options for clients, including retained and contingent searches, interim and contract placement, as well as career outplacement services and career coaching.

Global Healthcare Services Creates New Recruitment Platform
Global Healthcare Services recently detected a disturbing trend within the sector it serves: Hospitals were struggling with employee retention, from staff to leadership roles, with the C-suite’s annual turnover as high as 20 percent in recent years.

Mr. Cavalli, who joined GHS in 2003, has completed nearly 300 search assignments. He specializes in retained searches, and has earned a strong reputation in the industry, working mainly with small, rural hospitals throughout the country.
