Charles Aris Appoints Practice Leader

June 27, 2019 – Greensboro, NC-based executive search firm Charles Aris Inc. recently expanded with the addition of Luis Tejada as its newest practice leader.

Mr. Tejada will focus on recruiting A-level sales and marketing leaders on behalf of clients in the food and beverage industry. He brings an extensive background in shaping sales and marketing programs for a variety of organizations including Goya Foods and Reckitt Benckiser.

Mr. Tejada spent more than a decade over the course of two stints with Goya Foods, a multinational producer of brand foods and the largest Hispanic-owned company in the U.S. In his first stop with the organization, he directly oversaw five key accounts worth $44 million in annual revenue and played a key role in developing the organization’s account management function. He returned to Goya nearly a decade later in a vice president capacity, this time overseeing national sales operations for the company’s 2,700-plus SKU product portfolio. Between his two stops at Goya Foods, Mr. Tejeda spent six years at Reckitt Benckiser, where he served in brand management, trade marketing and strategy roles. He oversaw the organization’s specialty division, where his principal objective was to hold or expand product presence while reducing or establishing trade efficiency and increased profitability.

Mr. Tejeda then spent four years as vice president of marketing and business development at White Rose Foods. There, he owned the development and execution of all marketing and strategic sales efforts for the largest independent wholesaler in the New York metropolitan market. In 2017, Mr. Tejada founded DomEC Enterprises, an organization providing consulting services to the consumer goods industry. He now leverages more than 25 years in the space to help organizations strengthen their sales strategy, marketing and merchandising efforts.

“I am excited to join Charles Aris and contribute to 50 years of industry-leading expertise through sourcing and placement of top-level talent for its clients,” Mr. Tejada said. “I look forward to using the firm’s proven methods and strategies to secure the market’s highest-level talent for the food and beverage space. Our objective is to be the premier source of transformative talent that drives growth for our clients across the industry.”

Food and Beverage Industry Practice

The Charles Aris food and beverage industry practice partners closely with client organizations to add functional expertise across the sales, marketing, operations and strategy functions. Mr. Tejada directly partners with Charles Aris vice president Sarah Becker, a sales and marketing as well as an engineering and operations expert who helps lead the firm’s private equity and consumer/ retail recruiting practices.

Charles Aris Expands Private Equity Recruiting Practice
With limited timeframes in which to provide a return to their investors, private equity firms are under the gun to develop talent fast. That’s putting growing emphasis on top-grading senior leaders. Charles Aris recently expanded its professional services offering with the addition of Lucas Durr to its finance and accounting recruiting practice.

“I am excited to have Luis join our sales and marketing and consumer recruiting teams, and I’m looking forward to his contributions to our practice,” Ms. Becker said. “I am confident that his prior success in sales in the food and beverage space makes him an invaluable addition to the team, both for the clients we serve and Charles Aris as well.”

Established nearly 50 years ago, Charles Aris is a search industry pioneer focused on senior-level assignments within the strategy and business development, private equity, consumer/ retail, finance and accounting, sales and marketing, education, executive leadership, engineering and operations, chemicals and agribusiness sectors.
