January 9, 2017 – Executive search firm Came | Sweeney has been retained by Polyair to lead its search for a vice president of human resources. Founder and managing partner Peter Sweeney and senior partner Larry Rogna are leading the assignment.
This new role is expected to bring a broad and effective human resources background to this manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will have a clear history of having contributed to the success of previous organizations by applying good business principles to human resource processes and creating a human resources organization that is clearly an integral part of the business.
Strategic ‘Hands On’ Leader Sought
The incoming executive must thoroughly understand the vision, values and principles of Polyair, according to the position specification, and establish presence with all constituencies by learning the business. He or she is expected to immediately develop a comprehensive HR plan that will fully translate and support Polyair’s strategic direction and growth plans through enhancing short-and long-term people effectiveness.
A strategic thinker but ‘hands on’ doer, the right candidate is likely to be a human resources generalist who is presently running the function for a progressive, best practice type, mid-sized manufacturing company with multiple locations and union and non-union production groups, according to the company.

A minimum of 15 years of experience in successively challenging senior HR positions with proven leadership experience in similar manufacturing environments is required. He or she should have a clear record of success in recruiting at all levels of an organization, including personal success in senior leadership recruiting, selection and attraction.
Polyair is a $130 million, privately held protective packaging manufacturer serving the North America market with seven manufacturing plants located in the U.S. and Canada. The product line includes bubble wrap, air pillows, foam, protective mailers, packaging systems, as well as vapor corrosion inhibitor packaging and specialty blankets for pools and construction.
