Bryant Group Recruits Vice Chancellor for Advancement at the University of Washington Tacoma

October 24, 2023 – Following a national search Dallas-based executive search and talent development firm Bryant Group has placed Amanda Walker as vice chancellor of advancement at University of Washington Tacoma. Sarah Hempen, vice president, and Heather Wilensky, senior recruiter, led the assignment. “We were impressed by Amanda’s strong reputation as an exceptional leader and fundraiser,” said Sheila Edwards Lange, chancellor of UW Tacoma. “This expertise, combined with her deep ties to the Tacoma community, will help us expand the profound positive impact UW Tacoma has on the South Sound community.”

An experienced leader with over two decades of extensive fundraising and strategic team leadership experience, Ms. Walker brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. Most recently, she served as the vice president of institutional advancement at Purchase College in the SUNY system and executive director of the Purchase College Foundation and Charitable Entities. Prior to that, Ms. Walker served as CEO of the YWCA Pierce County and the vice president for advancement at The Evergreen State College.

In her new position, Ms. Walker will work jointly with Ms. Lange, as an integral member of the UW Tacoma chancellor’s executive leadership team and with the UW vice president for development. She will be responsible for oversight and implementation of all advancement activities on the UW Tacoma campus including marketing and communications, major gifts, and advancement services, said the Bryant Group.

Founded in 1990, the University of Washington Tacoma offers more than 60 undergraduate majors, minors, and study options; 15 graduate programs; and a variety of professional development courses and certificates. The university’s enrollment is 4,814, with 4,103 undergraduate students and 711 graduate students. Around 480 faculty and 320 staff support UW Tacoma’s active, urban campus.

Bryant Group Recruits CEO for Montana State University Alumni Foundation
