October 19, 2016 – AltoPartners, an international alliance of independent executive search firms and leadership consultants, has added Backer Wurzel & Partners in Argentina and Equation Partners in Peru as its newest member firms.
Based in Buenos Aires, Backer Wurzel & Partners was founded in 2012 by Ricardo Backer and Gustavo Wurzel, former managing partners of Korn Ferry and Heidrick & Struggles. The firm’s focus is on helping CEOs and senior directors in leveraging performance and effectiveness at both management team and individual levels. The firm has an integrated portfolio of two services: executive search and team performance (effective teams, executive coaching and culture).
Argentina: Latin America’s Third Largest Economy
Benefiting from rich natural resources, a highly literate population, a diversified industrial base, and an export-oriented agricultural sector, the economy of Argentina is Latin America’s third-largest, and the second largest in South America. It has a “very high” rating on the Human Development Index and a relatively high GDP per capita, with a considerable internal market size and a growing share of the high-tech sector.
“Argentina is at the start of a new economic era and is expected to be one of the strongest growing countries in the next decade,” said Mr. Backer. “Our clients are leading local and global multinationals, and through our membership in the AltoPartners alliance we will improve our ability to provide global services.”
“The Latin American region is strategically important for our clients and our global partners, and the addition of a well-respected firm like Backer Wurzel in Argnetina significantly enhances our impact within this region,” said Stephen Dallamore, global chairman of AltoPartners. Our partners in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Miami and Peru will work closely with our team in Argentina to deliver tailored solutions and assignments across the region.”
Peru: One of the Fastest Growing Economies
Equation Partners Peru has joined the alliance to further strengthen the AltoPartners presence across Latin America.
Peru is one of the world’s fastest-growing economies owing to the economic boom experienced during the 2000s. The country is going through a time of great optimism, with growth expected to accelerate due to the approval of an ambitious market reform agenda.
Equation Partners provides executive search services to a wide diversity of sectors and industries (financial sector, retail, real estate, telecommunications, health and life science, energy, construction, mining services, manufacturing industry and nonprofit organizations).
Claudia Secada, Equation Partners Peru managing partner, said: “I am thrilled to be part of Equation Partners / AltoPartners Peru, an internationally competitive firm, whose differentiator is the involvement and participation of senior professionals and partners at all stages of the executive search process. This is a great opportunity to enhance my experience and capabilities.“
“Through strategic and targeted approach to important countries, AltoPartners is actively seeking new member firms to work alongside like-minded entrepreneurial search professionals, each of whom is a respected expert in their own market,” said Mr. Dallamore. “We are extremely pleased with the growth of our on-the-ground presence in Latin America as we recognize the importance of this region to our global partners and clients.”
In addition to offices in Argentina and Peru, AltoPartners has a presence in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Miami. Its total alliance now has 54 offices in 34 countries.
Just recently, AltoPartners added Seoul-based Korean search firm Pathfinder and Swiss executive recruiters MPB Recruitment Group AG, as its newest member firms. The organization said the business development opportunities that exist in both Korea and Switzerland are of strategic importance for existing clients and partners in the alliance.
AltoPartners also added Budapest-based executive search firm AP Accord Group ECE Hungary as a member firm. Accord Group Hungary offers executive search services and expertise across a number of industries, including information & communications; technology / telecommunications (including industrial automation); manufacturing (automotive, electronics); media; as well as banking and financial services.
