Jorgenson Consulting Recruits CEO for Corpus Christi Chamber

February 26, 2016 – Greensboro, North Carolina-based Jorgenson Consulting has recruited Annette Medlin as president and chief executive officer of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. She succeeds Foster Edwards who has been the Chamber’s president and CEO for the past decade.

Ms. Medlin was selected from a large pool of qualified individuals with strong professional backgrounds in leadership roles throughout the country.

“This is a very important time in the history of our Chamber and we are excited to have such a strong and dynamic leader ready to join our community, as we work to begin the process to unify the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,” said chairman Gabe Guerra.

Ms. Medlin has an extensive background in Chamber organizational management and training. From 2005 through 2012, Ms. Medlin served as president and CEO of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce. She was recognized in 2007 as South Carolina Chamber ‘Executive of the Year’ and she received a certification from the U.S. Chamber’s Institution for Organization Management in 2009.

Ms. Medlin is a skilled organization management professional with 20-plus years in non-profit program management. Most recently, she was co-founder and director at Membership180. In 2011, she was hired by the Center for International Private Enterprise to assist in setting up the governance, structure, and mission/vision of a new joint Afghanistan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce aimed at promoting better cross-border business relations. She has also served as a faculty member for the United States Chamber Institute for Organization Management.

“We have been involved throughout the selection and vetting process for the new CEO, and I am looking forward to working with Annette on shaping a new Chamber,” said Rosie Collin, chair-elect of the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber. “She brings an exciting energy and experience that are key attributes in moving forward with our unification efforts.”

The Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven, non-profit organization established in 1916 by a group of local businessmen. Since its inception, the Chamber has been instrumental in the city’s economic success and a part of major projects, such as the creation of the Harbor Bridge, the Port of Corpus Christi, the Corpus Christi Army Depot, Texas State Aquarium, the U.S.S. Lexington Museum and Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi.

Todd Jorgenson, managing director of Jorgenson Consulting, specializes in recruiting for non-profit, community and economic development entities throughout the U.S. His experience includes identifying executives in a number of functional sectors, including non-profit, information technology, executive compensation, sales operation management, business development and sales.

Jorgenson Consulting recently placed William C. Cronin as president and chief executive officer of the Pasco Economic Development Council as well as Martin K. Vanags as the president of the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership Inc.
