March 15, 2016 – Washington, D.C.-based executive search firm Vetted Solutions LLC has been retained by the American Psychiatric Association Foundation to lead its search for an executive director.
The organization’s new leader will work with the board and staff to increase financial support from funders, with a particular emphasis on increasing the number of APA members who support the foundation.
Position responsibilities include a top-to-bottom review of the organization’s current strategic direction; a focus on building awareness and fund size to meet the foundation’s long term vision; an ability to provide leadership in program development; organizational and financial planning with the board and staff in order to establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with partner organizations; fundraising; and serving as the primary spokesperson to constituents, the media, and the general public.

Just last month, Vetted Solutions named veteran association executive R. Norris Orms as vice president in its Chicago office. He brings more than 25 years of experience working with associations and other non-profit organizations. He recently served as EVP and COO of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the largest global healthcare association focused on leading efforts to optimize health engagements and care outcomes using information technology.
The economic strength of the non-profit sector has increased in recent years and the sector is now the third largest employer in the U.S. Nearly two million non-profit organizations employ 10.7 million people and produce revenue in excess of $1.9 trillion.
