The Bowdoin Group Appoints Senior Finance Leader

May 26, 2020 – The Bowdoin Group, a Boston-based executive search firm, has expanded with the addition of Terri Ryan as vice president of finance. She brings a strong finance background to The Bowdoin Group and experience in building and managing companies in high growth environments with increasing levels of complexity.

Ms. Ryan has over 25 years of experience leading finance organizations and overseeing strategic financial operations, reporting, analysis and planning, and administration. Most recently, she served as vice president of finance and administration at NetNumber Inc., where she oversaw and led the finance, accounting and HR teams, and partnered closely with the management team to provide strategic analysis for making better business decisions.

“We are delighted to bring Terri onboard as we continue to strengthen our FP&A and administration functions at The Bowdoin Group,” said Scott Aldsworth, president of the firm. “She is a great addition to the team and will support our strategic vision across the board.”

Ms. Ryan praised her new employer. “The Bowdoin Group is such a recognized name in the search industry,” she said. “Their reputation precedes them across the Greater Boston area, and it’s an honor to join such a well-regarded and mission-driven firm. I am looking forward to working closely with the management team as the company continues to grow.”

The Bowdoin Group also recently added Travis DeMar as a senior consultant. Mr. DeMar brings years of relationship-building and management experience to The Bowdoin Group, most recently serving as a Talent Acquisition Consultant for Pegasystems. Before that, he was a recruiter for WinterWyman’s executive search business, where he was responsible for candidate engagement and client relationships. Before entering the talent acquisition industry he spent 10 years in higher education.

“We are excited to welcome Travis to the team,” said Kara Barr, vice president of delivery at the firm. “Our delivery mechanism is built on a strong foundation of both recruiting and research, and we know Travis will be a strong addition in bringing the best possible service to our clients.”

The Bowdoin Group said it “looks forward to continued growth across the core vertical markets it serves—biopharma, digital health and technology—with the experience and expertise that both Terri and Travis bring to the firm.”

Serving a Wide Range of Companies

Founded in 1994, The Bowdoin Group specializes in leadership and strategic roles for a wide range of companies, from small firms building out their executive team to large firms sourcing talent for rapid market expansion. With deep expertise in biopharma, digital health, fintech and financial services, and software, the firm specializes in the Greater Boston area with the ability to source talent and service companies globally.

Last year, The Bowdoin Group appointed Mr. Aldsworth to president. Mr. Aldsworth is responsible for all sales, marketing and delivery outcomes across the firm’s executive and strategic search and team expansions services. He joined Bowdoin in 2016 as its first chief revenue officer after decades of industry experience building and managing professional services teams at both venture capital and private equity backed firms. In this role, he was responsible for Bowdoin’s sales and marketing teams, overseeing the go-to-market strategy across all market verticals. Mr. Aldsworth has driven 85 percent revenue growth over three years, recently securing the firm’s top 10 ranking in the Boston Business Journal’s list of “Largest Executive Search Firms in Massachusetts (by revenue).”
