Space Executive Opens Office in Hong Kong

November 9, 2018 – Singapore-headquartered recruitment agency Space Executive has opened a new office in Hong Kong. The firm has brought on veteran recruiter Nick Lambe as managing director to lead the new location.

Space Executive will focus on growing its presence across investment banking, capital markets, private equity and funds in Hong Kong. The firm said that it will be “replicating a similar business model to the one that catapulted Singapore to become one of the fastest growing multi-discipline recruiters in the market, with over 25 staff producing in excess of SGD $8 million in revenue in just four years.”

Mr. Lambe is a seasoned recruiter with over 18 years’ experience, 12 of those in Hong Kong. He has worked across a number of leading multinational and boutique recruitment firms. Most recently, he was group managing director at Links International, a provider of human resources outsourcing solutions in Asia. Before that, Mr. Lambe was with Morgan McKinley, where in 2010 he was the youngest consultant ever to be promoted to managing director. That same year, he was among the firm’s top five billers globally. Earlier in his career, he was an executive search consultant with GRS Tax, a specialist search and headhunting consultancy focused on the recruitment of mid-senior level tax professionals within the Big Four, commerce & industry and the legal sector.

Strategic Growth

“The decision to open in Hong Kong is a strategic step in our overall international business growth strategy,” said Marek Danyluk, managing partner. “This will give many of our current multinational clients an opportunity to leverage our industry-leading recruitment specialists across another key Asian market.”

“We believe that remaining true to our focus on boutique client servicing using the most experienced and highest performing consultants will catapult our business internationally,” Mr. Danyluk said. “We are thrilled to have Nick lead and grow our service offering in Hong Kong, and I look forward to working with our clients and candidates over the coming years.”

In his new role, Mr. Lambe will be responsible for growing the Hong Kong business, which aims to have 20 consultants by next year, with another office opening in Tokyo by 2020.

“I am very excited to be joining a business with such clear success and appetite for expansion, which is committed to not only attracting the best consultants but retaining them for the long-term,” Mr. Lambe said. “I firmly believe that our business model is built for success and meets the needs of the Hong Kong market. As we grow from strength to strength, more clients and candidates will continue to enjoy highly specialized servicing from our carefully selected recruiters, who are some of the best in the industry.”

Hong Kong Market

As one of the world’s leading international financial centers, Hong Kong has a major capitalist service economy characterized by low taxation and free trade. It is an important center for international finance and trade, with one of the greatest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the Asia Pacific region.

The Hong Kong market has again retained its ranking as the most economically free market in the world, according to the Fraser Institute. And a study by the Milken Institute found that the Sichuan provincial capital of Chengdu has the best economy of any city in mainland China. Shanghai and Tianjin ranked second and third. In Shanghai, China’s financial hub and a global finance center, employers expect to grow staffing levels in a number of industry sectors and all nine regions, according to a recent Manpower employment index report. In Japan, Tokyo employers report the region’s most optimistic hiring plans and expect the strongest hiring in more than six years.
