Sheffield Haworth Expands Global Markets Team
January 14, 2020 – Global leadership advisory and executive search firm Sheffield Haworth has expanded with the addition of Deborah Way to its New York office as a managing director within the firm’s global markets team.
Ms. Way brings to the firm a wealth of experience in fixed income sales across the New York and Asia markets, having spent over 21 years in industry. After graduating from Princeton, she joined Goldman Sachs as a graduate in fixed income sales and structuring before joining Lehman and then Bear Stearns where she worked in fixed income rates sales.
In 2008, Ms. Way joined Barclays in U.S. rates sales and became the head of official institutions followed by the head of international institutions before relocating to Singapore in 2014 to lead Macro Sales for Southeast Asia, India and Australia. She returned to the U.S. in 2018 to focus on leading the EM Macro and LATAM Cross Asset Sales business.
In a move away from industry, building upon her global connections and deep industry knowledge, Ms. Way has decided to join the global markets practice at Sheffield Haworth, partnering closely with Sarah Harte who has been growing the equities business across the U.S. This new partnership will enable the practice to offer clients a range of solutions across fixed income and equities.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Deborah’s standing join the firm,” said Julian Bell, managing director, head of Americas at Sheffield Haworth. “She is hugely experienced and brings a fresh perspective and unique expertise from her time in industry which will be a great asset to the team. In what has been a particularly difficult year for markets globally, we are excited at the opportunity of expanding the team and widening our offering to clients to complement the Equities business which Sarah has firmly established.”
“I am delighted to be joining Sheffield Haworth,” said Ms. Way. “Having worked with the organization previously as a client, what has stood out to me is the firm’s commitment to excellence, integrity and diversity. I am excited to work together with Sarah and the team to create a differentiated and wider range of solutions for our clients across global markets.”
Growing Search Firm
Sheffield Haworth, founded in 1993, is a global executive search, talent advisory and interim consulting firm. The organization partners with clients around the world to provide tailored solutions for their business and talent needs at the senior management level. The firm has 10 offices throughout the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific. It serves clients in the financial services, business and professional services and technology industries.
In October, Sheffield Haworth expanded with the addition of a new office in Shanghai. Recognized as a global commercial and financial hub, the additional location complements the firm’s existing presence in the Asia Pacific region, alongside offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Mumbai and Delhi. “The decision to locate the office in Shanghai follows recent additions to the team that support our client’s needs in the region,” the search firm said.
Sheffield Haworth also appointed Penny Bushell as head of U.S. operations based in the firm’s New York office. The former hedge fund executive joins the recruiting outfit to support and streamline operations in the Americas region as the business looks to expand further. Most recently, Ms. Bushell was VP, head of U.S. corporate services, at the U.K.-based hedge fund Winton Capital. In addition, Sonjay Vishnupad has joined Sheffield Haworth as managing director, corporate officers practice in New York.
