Sheffield Haworth Acquires S&H Consulting
October 17, 2019 – Global leadership advisory and executive search firm Sheffield Haworth has continued its recent growth with the acquisition of S&H Consulting, a change management and business transformation consultancy to tier-one banks and other financial institutions. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed. The acquisition follows the recent growth of Sheffield Haworth’s Consulting Solutions team, with several senior and experienced hires appointed in the last few months.
S&H Consulting engages with clients to deliver programs for strategic initiatives and tactical solutions across risk, regulatory and compliance, quantitative analytics, technology and digital, and operations and finance. The company was founded in 1993 and is headed by managing director Alan Summers.
“We are delighted to welcome the S&H Consulting team to the Sheffield Haworth group,” said Tim Sheffield, chairman of Sheffield Haworth. “This strategic acquisition accelerates the growth of our consulting solutions business and enables us to deliver additional services to support our clients’ change management and business transformation initiatives.”
“This is a really exciting opportunity for both S&H and Sheffield Haworth,” said Mr. Summers. “We are complementary businesses founded on strong values and principles. With over 25 years’ experience in financial markets both companies enjoy an excellent reputation with clients. This new chapter will offer our clients a wider range of strategic solutions and modes of engagement combined with flexible operating models to meet their ever changing needs,” he said.
Sheffield Haworth, founded in 1993, is a global executive search, talent advisory and interim consulting firm. The organization partners with clients around the world to provide tailored solutions for their business and talent needs at the senior management level. The firm has 10 offices throughout the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific. It serves clients in the financial services, business and professional services and technology industries.
Growing Search Firm
Last week, Sheffield Haworth expanded with the addition of a new office in Shanghai. Recognized as a global commercial and financial hub, the additional location complements the firm’s existing presence in the Asia Pacific region, alongside offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Mumbai and Delhi. “The decision to locate the office in Shanghai follows recent additions to the team that support our client’s needs in the region,” the search firm said.
Earlier this year, Sheffield Haworth appointed Penny Bushell as head of U.S. operations based in the firm’s New York office. The former hedge fund executive joins the recruiting outfit to support and streamline operations in the Americas region as the business looks to expand further. Most recently, Ms. Bushell was VP, head of U.S. corporate services, at the U.K.-based hedge fund Winton Capital. In addition, Sonjay Vishnupad has joined Sheffield Haworth as managing director, corporate officers practice in New York.
In London, meanwhile, Sheffield Haworth’s consulting solutions practice has further grown by adding Ben Johnson as managing director to grow the insurance practice. He brings over 12 years’ experience in the sector and broadens the firm’s offering across financial services. Mr. Johnson was previously with Interim Partners, where he built a track record of placing executive interims and consultants at the C-suite level across some of the biggest names in the insurance sector.
“We are very pleased that Ben has joined the team,” said Tom Forrest, managing director and head of consulting solutions. “He is highly experienced and respected in the insurance sector and his appointment allows us to extend our existing offering to those clients. The team has grown rapidly over the last few months, and we are excited to offer our clients an increased suite of services across a range of functions and sectors to help them solve their talent needs in 2019.”
Sheffield Haworth told Hunt Scanlon Media that this year it will continue to invest in its consulting teams across the globe in key areas, including technology, professional services and financial services, offering clients a truly holistic approach to talent and leadership advisory.
