Russell Reynolds Associates Opens Miami Office
December 1, 2016 – Russell Reynolds Associates has opened an office in Miami in an effort to further strengthen its presence on the East Coast and bridge the firm’s North America and Latin America field locations. The Miami office marks the firm’s first in Florida and becomes its 47th across 26 countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and the Middle East.
Nada Usina will be office manager for the new location. She joined the firm more than six years ago and has held numerous leadership positions. Ms. Usina currently leads Russell Reynolds’ technology practice in the Americas and its sports practice globally. She will continue to provide leadership advice to clients and will spend time in both Miami and New York City.
“We have been advising clients in the region on talent and leadership issues for many years, as it is a growing and thriving market, as well as a conduit to Latin America,” said Clarke Murphy, Russell Reynolds’ chief executive officer. “As demand for our advisory services continues to grow across industry sectors in Florida and beyond, we believe now is the right time to open an office in Miami.”
“Russell Reynolds Associates has an established presence in Florida through deep connections with lead directors, chairpersons and the C-suite of both public and privately held companies in the area,” said Ms. Usina. “We will offer our full suite of services to our Florida-based clients, including succession planning, executive assessment, and C-suite and board of directors recruitment.”
Expanding to Florida
The firm also added Mar Hernández to the Miami office as a consultant; she will focus on serving financial services clients. Ms. Hernández advises and recruits C-suite level executives for clients in global private wealth management, asset management, private equity, insurance and fintech. She also works with clients across a range of industries to build and develop C-suite leadership at their regional headquarters based in Florida.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds, Ms. Hernández spent five years as a senior client partner in Miami at TRANSEARCH. “Mar brings industry and analytical expertise to conduct senior level searches for a wide range of strategic and functional roles,” said Constantine Alexandrakis, leader of Russell Reynolds’ operations in the U.S. “Her deep connections in the region and her international work experience augment our ability to assist clients and continue our firm’s growth trajectory.”
Search firms have been expanding throughout Florida in recent months. Miami is a major center of commerce and finance and boasts a strong international business community. Because of its proximity to Latin America, it serves as the headquarters of Latin American operations for more than 1,400 multinational corporations, including AIG, American Airlines, Cisco, Disney, Exxon, FedEx, Kraft Foods, LEO Pharma Americas, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle, SBC Communications, Sony, Symantec, Visa International, and Wal-Mart. The city has a gross metropolitan product of $257 billion and is ranked 20th worldwide in GMP, and 11th in the U.S.
